About me:
Fascinated by the explosion of fantastic zine writing in the 1990s, Garrett County Press was formed to publish the underground, anti-work publication Temp Slave. Best of Temp Slave came out in 1997 and was followed by Guinea Pig Zero, Ivan Petrov: Russia through a Shot Glass and Little Tenement on the Volga. In 2004, we merged with New Mouth from the Dirty South, publishers of Tales of a Punk Rock Nothing and Gynomite. More information at gcpress.com.

Robert Dean writes novels.

I finished it a week or so ago and in hindsight I came out with a few things from reading it:

A. I'd like to hang out with Mickey Hess
B. He seemingly married his best friend and it kind of made me emotionally jealous.
C. I get look forward to a lot of bullshit with this whole writing thing.

Big wheel @ the cracker factory is proving to be a great book thus far.
It's EVEN MORE enjoyable to read after the last book I just read, shit almost made my brain fizzle.

It's more than likely a bad idea to show your work at 90% to a publisher that you actually respect and enjoy.

But, I've got some short story pieces in my last two blogs.
Feel free to read them (they're quick) and leave some feedback.

They're just something I'm working on as I'm editing my book continually.

But, in all seriousness keep up the good work and keep the artistic dream that is New Orleans alive and kicking.
We need it!

I just learned that even when turned off the Feds can "turn your cell phone on" and use it as a listening device, wherever, whenever, why-ever. And that on an average one out of every 5 of our cell phone calls is "tapped".

Great, one more reason to lose my shit ...

even the most mundane gestures of independence are opportunities for political rebellion & resistance -

I won the Open Sound auction for the bundle of books including the Ivan Petrov and can't wait to get my grubby 1/2 Russian hands on them.

You can't even imagine how bad I am at basketball. Shooting baskets alone yesterday I was like 2 for 6,000
I don't even want to go into what went down when I was jumping rope.

See you in the lounge.
