About me:

I was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I am a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and have been practicing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for over twenty years. I was promoted to Black Belt in 1998 by Andre Pederneiras, founder of Nova União, and then moved to the U.S. I've been living in the U.S. since.

I am the Head Instructor of Nova União Arizona located within Arizona Combat Sports in Tempe, AZ. Team Nova União has been very successful competing in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Submission Wrestling, and Mixed Martial Arts events for over 10 years. Team Nova União has competed in events such as UFC, Shooto Japan, K-1, Bodog and WEC. I have been producing world-class competitors since October 2000. Now the largest Nova União Branch in the nation, Nova União Arizona continues to grow while showing their amazing jiu-jitsu skills and great team spirit that takes its competitors to win State, National and International titles.
