Geron and Becky Davis have become names synonymous with church music everywhere. Holy Ground, In the Presence of Jehovah, Mercy Saw Me, Send It On Down, Holy Of Holies, Gentle Hands, Peace Speaker, and Something About My Praise are only a few of the many songs this talented duo have written over the years. Co-partners in life and ministry, they have dedicated themselves to a passion that is the culmination of talent and ingenuity, but most importantly a calling. Not only have Geron and Becky grown to be leaders in the music industry as songwriters and vocalists, they are an integral part of the current upward trend the praise and worship genre is experiencing around the world today. Geron asked his sister, Alyson Lovern and her husband Shelton to join he and Becky in forming the group, Kindred Souls more than 10 years ago.
Having released their debut album, "Let It Rain," in 2002, the tight familial timbre and groove this group produces have been compared to Avalon, Manhattan Transfer, and the former group First Call. The album gained considerable attention on AC charts as well as being a break out project for them. Kindred Souls continues with a musical style that embraces a traditional sound, wrapped in a contemporary, edgy package, ultimately leading them into some of the country's largest churches and music programs. They are on the road most of the year, conducting choral workshops and seminars, bringing fresh new music that brings renewed vision and excitement to America 's churches.
THEN AND THERE(SETTLED AND DONE) & HE IS GREAT are the latest ventures by this group of renowned worship leaders. These projects, while differing, both deftly blend an edgy, tight, sound with powerful, Scripture inspired lyrics that will uplift and encourage the listener. THEN & THERE - from Brentwood-Benson is centered around the Easter theme. It is NOT, however, just an Easter project. For choir directors, groups, or soloists looking for new material, this collection has a number of songs that are usable all year long. This Geron Davis/Bradley Knight production also features some guest soloists who join Geron Davis & Kindred Souls to help make this a celebration extraordinaire! Our dear friend, Regi Stone (worship leader at our home church, Christ Church), Pastor Dan Scott (one of the greatest speakers AND singers on the planet - he's also one of our pastors at Christ Church), and one of our great musical influences during our formative years and long time friend, Russ Taff, all pitched in to make this more than just a recording...it is a worship experience. One of the highlights of the project is a song built around the act of communion. New Covenant literally incorporates communion with the entire congregation into the song. Pastor Dan Scott and Russ Taff are absolutely incredible on this. Other key songs on the project include: Just Call Me Jesus, The God We Serve, Then And There, O Broken Lamb, and First Time I Came To Grace.
HE IS GREAT is our newest live worship recording. Recorded with the choir at Mt. Paran North in Atlanta, this is one of the most versatile projects we've done. We teamed up with SpiritSound Music to create this powerful time of worship. J. Daniel Smith brought his producing and orchestrating skills to help us weave a tapestry of worship that includes something for everyone. From the gospel "church" sounds of I Feel A Stirring and Under The Shadow, to the passionate and worshipful Lift Up Your Heads and With Every Breath, to the guitar driven He Is Great and They That Wait. There is even a modern hymn, O Great God that features only piano and orchestra.
