IN THE PAST YEAR, GEAR RUSH HAS GONE THROUGH A FEW CHANGES AND OVERCOME ALL OF THE ISSUES THEY HAVE BEEN FACED WITH. LOSING THEIR BASSIST DUE TO PERSONAL PROBLEMS, THEN GUITARIST, ANTHONY SAVANA, TOOK OVER BASS DUTIES, BRINGING A NEW VIBE TO THE BAND AND THEIR STYLE OF WRITING. WORKING ON NEW MATERIAL FOR THEIR SOPHMORE ALBUM, THEY ARE HAPPIER THAN EVER WITH THEIR SONGS AND PROGRESS. WITH HARD HITTING BASS AND DRUMS FROM ANTHONY AND REGGIE, PUNCH IN THE FACE GUITAR FROM MAX, AND THE MELODIC VOCALS OF KRISTY, GEAR RUSH IS TREADING A NEW PATH IN TODAY’S MUSIC SCENE.
GOING BACK TO LATE JANUARY 2007, THE BAND AT THE TIME, CONSISTING OF MAX, ANTHONY, REGGIE, AND JOSH(ex-BASSIST) AUDITIONED KRISTY. SHE CAME IN AND THE BAND WAS AMAZED AT HER RANGE AND ABILITY TO SUSTAIN. SOON AFTER, THE BAND HAD ITS FIRST GIG AT THE TROCADERO THEATRE IN PHILADELPHIA,PA. BRINGING OUT MORE THAN 50 PEOPLE TO THEIR FIRST REAL SHOW, THEY WERE OFF TO A GOOD START. PUSHING ALONG, THEY PLAYED PLACES SUCH AS THE UNDERGROUND IN PHILLY, THE TROCADERO THEATRE, THE CROCODILE ROCK CAFÉ IN ALLENTOWN,PA, AND THE NUTTY IRISHMAN IN BAYSHORE,NY. WINNING THE SAM ASH BATTLE OF THE BANDS AND PLACING HIGH IN EVERY COMPETITION THEY’VE ENTERED AROUND THEIR HOMETOWN AREA OF CAMDEN COUNTY, NJ.
