About The Gecko Brothers

.... The ''Gecks'' - hail from Fuente Alamo in the Costa Calida region of southern Spain. Their music is a breath of fresh air in a place where middle of the road mediocrity reigns.

Heavily influenced by American R&B and the blues of B. B King, their set contains a variety of styles from funk to swing to get you out on the dance floor and boogie.

It's simply music to satisfy the soul performed by well seasoned pros.

Profiles

Nick and Paul:The Original "Geckos" are from Stoke-on-Trent, and have more than 30 years experience in the music biz having toured all over Europe and the Middle East with soul band, Sweet Sensation and The Sneezing Duck Blues Band. Their illustrious musical career has seen them play with such top artists as Roy Wood, Jeff Lynn, George Harrison, Kenny Thomas and The Climax Blues band.

Since coming to Spain the boys have set up their own recording studio and have been busy recording local artists as well as putting together one of the finest bands on the costas.

Paul is a prolific songwriter and is busy compiling material for a forthcoming album which will feature a wide variety of musical styles

Allan comes from London and started playing drums at the early age of 11. At the age of 17 he formed an 8 piece blues band called Blue Fingers with a four piece horn section, two of which went on to join Cliff Bennets Rebel Rousers. Allan was also offered pro work but was persuaded by peer pressure to get a proper job. That pro work was with the emerging Johnny Kidd and the Pirates.

Before coming to Spain in 2004 Allan played with a 7 piece soul/funk band called Respect touring throughout the UK and occasionally Europe.

John hails from the north of England and is a highly experienced, accomplished musician on both Bass and Lead guitar. He played extensively throughout the UK in top class Rock and Blues bands for many years before moving to Spain and joining the geckos on Bass

Stu: Learnt his craft in the RAF where he had to play all types of music to strict arrangements. Stu also plays guitar and sings and since leaving the RAF he has worked regularly as a solo artist on the Spanish and German circuits but mainly in Tenerife. Since coming to Spain Stu now augments his solo work with the Geckos.
