GeekintheCity's Interests
General
Writing (comics, plays, screenplays, short form). Gaming (yes, I am an RPG Geek...table-top only, I refuse to get sucked into .. gaming). Movies (watching and making). Exploring caves (don't ask, I don't know why either). Cooking (ladies love a dude who can cook).
Music
Um... I know what I like when I hear it, but couldn't give you a favorite band or style... Um, except Queen. Love me some Queen!
Network, Evil Dead 2, Grave of the Fireflies, The Iron Giant, High Fidelity, Chasing Amy, LotR: The Two Towers, The Meaning of Life, Duel, Jaws, Glengarry Glen Ross, Crouching Tiger - Hidden Dragon, Where the Buffalo Roam, Pi...
Television
Crap... It doesn't matter because everything I like gets canceled. I blame "the Man". Although, heaven help me I will STILL watch the A-Team if it is on... Or...um... Anything with "Star" and "Trek" in the title... The exception being Voyager, screw that show!

About me: I am the founder and head writer of GeekintheCity.com, a website devoted to the latest in movies, comics, tabletop games, digital pastimes, and all things Geek. My fascination with comics, film, music, and obscure trivia has transformed into a lifelong pursuit of pop culture knowledge. A precocious writer who started out by spinning elaborate stories based on my favorite sci-fi and adventure franchises, (the first being Indiana Jones and the Key of Cortez...what? I was 9) I befuddled my grade-school teachers, who were convinced that no child could write that well at such a young age. (Yea, because my mother was going to write about Indiana Jones, asshats).
When not hard at work on my plans for pop culture domination, I create highly acclaimed independent films, freelance in many forms of media, explore the minutiae of pop culture, and shares my love of all things Geek with the world through my writing.
Who I'd like to meet: Julius Schwartz - A giant of the comic book industry, Julius sadly departed this multiverse a couple of years ago. I wish I could have met him and thanked him personally for replying to my purple crayon written letter to DC comics at the ripe age of 8 when I told him I loved Batman and had a great story idea... He thanked me and told me to look him up in 10 years for a job. Wish I could have done that...
Harlan Ellison - One of my personal heroes as a writer. Sure, some folks think he can be a major bastard... But, that is why I love his work. (To say nothing of the fact that I think he is talented beyond measure).
William Shatner - Um, cause he's William Shatner and I'm not.
There is a whole grip of people I would like to meet... But, that is enough for now.
I'm so sorry I must avoid you, Clyde and everyone else who sees Dark Knight before I do. I have to wait until 9a.m. on the 18th to see it and I want to go into it clean. This is me, covering up my ears, nananananana..nanananana...I can't heeear you.
Hey, friends & neighbors. I work for a Vancouver software startup, and we badly need a phone-answerer. Anyone interested in making some cash? Get back to me through the M'Spaces and I'll give you all the details. This is totally legit - We're not offering free X-boxes here...
also, I found this today. Looks like the first (NON SPOILING)appearance of Harvey Dent post well.. you know (and if you don't, I won't spoil it). This is from whysoserious. com/myhero
You should have Sarah on Film Fever more often. Even if she doesn't have anything to say. Just invite her on as a guest-swearer every couple episodes. It's refreshing!
Rain Country Creative just finished another short film. "Stan The Green Monkey" Written and directed by Nate Baker. It is being premiered next weekend at a home in North Portland next Saturday night at dusk. We are playing it through a projector on the side of a house. There will be lots of beer of course, and we are following the movie with "Poltergeist" for those who stick around after. I would love to have you and Scott as my guests. Come critique our little 14 minute film, and schmooze with all the geeks. Let me know.
AARON. The latest FFR was SO GOOD. All over. You guys are awesome. (Oh, and I don't think I've said, but that photo of you from the roast is almost equally awesome. )
No, I have no shame at all...

"All of Control's agents have been outed so they're being whacked off in quite humorous fashion."
You actually said this with a straight face in this weeks Film Fever Radio episode. I waited for the double-take and none came. That made it funnier.
Awesome episode.
When the Zombie Apocalypse befalls us all, I hope we get some of these as well.
They're so cute and cadaverous!
So I did it...I caved. I now have Magic cards again.
And I'm slowly relearning how to play. Sigh....:)
Glad to have you as a friend! Hope to see you on the Nightwatchers forum on the banner below!
