'ambitious and real, this record, and more importantly Geek Records seems to be the kind of small label to believe in; it's grass roots music for the masses, barefaced, honest, on the whole superb' Tasty Fanzine
“Future Relics” is another stitch in the very fabric of modern British music. Read this though - without these collections there is no platform, or creative opportunity for people to explore something different and for their exposure to influence others. Long live Geek Pie and all the innovators on board for this entertaining excursion.' 4/5 Manchester Music
'It's fair to say Geek Pie records have hit the nail on the head with this talented bunch of tunesmiths... a perfectly lo-fi compilation.' Rhubarb Bomb'
Also available at www.geekpie.bigcartel.com: GKP VI: 'PROLEFEED' is the 7 track EP from One Day, After School... it sees the band adopting a more natural, acoustic based approach to their craft...
-'you can see all the seams and joins, and it's a complete stranger to any post-production gloss. But, therein lies its charm. Back-to-basics, back bedroom-produced music' - Leedsmusicscene
-'Great ideas and some magnificent guitar work' - Manchester Music

Now Available: The new Single by 'The Passing Fancy'. Old skool upbeat folk with a twist of charm and self deprication, the passing fancy has created his most fully realised work yet. 'Talking Sense Blues' is a musically dense yet direct denial to a girl who just wont leave him alone. Dont we all have that problem? And equally impressive B-side 'Suburban Lovesick Blues' sees Mr Fancy thoughtfully looking back on love gone a-stray... in the most upbeat, foot stomping manner possible. The single also comes with an exclusive live take of Folk Standard 'Rambler Gambler, which is really quite beautiful. Its available for just £2, including your postage x

this is our current roster:
THE PASSING FANCY - wonderfully engaging folk tales of booze and the mess that usually follows... but with a distinct and unique charm. Always a great live spectacle, TPF will be releasing a album of free-wheeling japery soon!
ONE DAY, AFTER SCHOOL... - Confused Downbeat anti folk bedroom squall... 1 man and his drum machine or a 10 strong army... depends how the mood takes them... Currently working on two EPs for 2009
BY BY - Maniac ranting uber-pop. Like spiked down local boozer; mad trip stumble home passed international supermarket... and this is the sound ringing in your ears like a bad dream. Damaged, angry and sweetly wistful, we have no idea what they will come out with next
THE FROG NEXT DOOR - Suburban electro pop oddity, mixing tales of keenly english optomism and fond bygone memories, with talking computers. Highly regarded by Huw Stephens with new tracks expected later in the year. We keenly await the live debut...
THE JOHN PRESCOTT REACTION - Traditionalist Socialist Anarchist 2 piece outfit, caught between the library and the boozer and detailing the decline around them in full punk splendor. If we could only get the pair of them together in the recording studio...
THE WHIPPETS - Wakefield Indie Alt popsters, enjoyed by Steve Lamacq among others. Former Bright Young Things winners, Radio 1 Gods of the Pod and Lamacq unsigned band of the week.
Greetings and salutations and thank you for supporting my music, you are very kind. Happy listening and don’t be a stranger. P.S. You should consider me for your upcoming compilation ;)
Quite a few of them are people i'd like to get to hang out with more! That's the best qualification for a band not pure musical force! It's gonna be great. I wanna get an onstage tape machine thing for extra sound and layers. What would you reccomend?
Looking forward to the comp and the reviews! by by is now a ten man band, the comeback gig is gonna be in a dilapadated snooker club in Featherstone. I kid thee not. Are you having a compilation launch night? Glad I'm the last person on your friends list, that must mean you love me the most!
Done some serious listening to the One DAS cd. Lovin the more natural, acoustic based approach ;) And occasional epic ending! Had Softly Softly filling my head again today.
