About me: The Big Goose and Lil Goose saga was an event that lasted for over 40 years. THE ORIGINAL RHYTHM SECTION on "Remember When I was Young" from Oz Blues band CHAIN, Because the rhythm section was so tight you didn't know who was shadowing the profile of whom. Everything played on the drums was answered on the bass in a very uncanny way, sort of like a form of ESP. The communication wasn't signalled but just felt. That probably explains why the rhythm feels on all the records the geese made together had such an incredible groove.
Who I'd like to meet: Another bass player like big goose who myself Barry ( lil_goose) Harvey, are the rhythm section on "Remember When I Was Young" which you can hear on the music clip here so play it and dig the groove !!!!
Happy Birthday to the Geese Rhythm section, we started playing together in 1964 so I guess that is a while from 1964 until 27/10/2003. I first met the Big Goose when the Beatles had number one records and the Rolling Stones and the Who were getting a big name on the rock scene. He played guitar then and switched to bass guitar the same night that the astronauts walked on the MOON. So are far as dating goes I guess that is 1969 to 2003. What a dynamite period of time that was . Talk about a pair of hoons mate. The other Goose.
The Barry Harvey (drums) and Barry Sullivan (bass) Rhythm Section started 42 years ago. And before that, Barry H on drums and Barry Sullivan on lead/rhythm guitar.
