Gemini CollisionWorks's Blurbs |
About me:
Gemini CollisionWorks is Ian W. Hill (1997-present) and Berit Johnson (2000-present).
Hill and Johnson are engaged and live with two incredible cats, Hooker and Simone, in Southern Brooklyn (Gravesend), New York City.
Ian W. Hill was born outside Philadelphia. Raised a bit there, in Bloomington, IN and Wilmington, DE, but mainly in Cos Cob, CT. Schooled in Massachusetts and New York City. Resident of New York City and sometimes Portland, ME.
Hill has worked as an actor, writer, director, producer, and technician in theatre and film. Managed and lived in the Nada Theatre on Ludlow Street, NYC, from 1996 to 2000. Mainly works at The Brick, an indie theatre in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, now. Has acted in around 75 independent theatre productions in NYC since 1989, has directed around 50 since 1997, and has designed elements (primarily lights, sound, and/or projections) for many many more.
He is still working on the same novel (Worlgdinprogcess) since April, 1984.
He is sometimes a songwriter and musician. Sometimes poet and photographer.
He is a former Christian. Is an Atheist. Leftist. New Englander. American. Patriot.
Berit Johnson does a lot of theatre. She is a full partner in GCW, but has no interest in self-promotion, prefers to remain behind the scenes, and would rather leave the public side of the company to Ian. So most of what's here is about him.
This space and blog are for networking and promotion. Ian's primary blog about his work and life, CollisionWorks, is at http://collisionwork.livejournal.com.
We also have a Flickr photostream at http://flickr.com/photos/geminicollisionworks.
We also sell tie-in products for our shows and company at http://www.cafepress.com/collisionworks.

Who I'd like to meet:
Other NYC theatre artists, companies, and spaces - as well as old friends (I miss them all, and have been terrible at staying in touch with so many).
The top 40 I have below will always be the 40 people that I know personally on here that have friended me, and that I have known the longest, in the order in which I met them.
