Gemma Shaw is an up and coming musician.
She was born in Bimingham on 24th July 1987.
Gem has always had a keen interest in music from an early age, which she has progressed throughout the years.
Her inspiration and drive has stemed from her dad who is also a very talented guitarist.
Gem's parents started her journey in music by giving her her first guitar at the age of seven.
It wasn't until Gem was 10 that she started playing the guitar.
This is where the journey began. Gem's dad taught her to play the lead guitar and since that moment she has been improving ever since.
In the last few years, Gem has become really passionate about her music, and let her own style through her guitar playing and vocals.
She performs at her Golf Club and various other venues for charity.
Earlier on in the year her Golf Club held a Captains Charity Summer Ball
where instead of saying Grace she sang the stunning song "Fields Of Gold" by Eva Cassidy.
Journey South were the main act that night, and performed many of there fantastic hit singles.
After they had finished Gem went back on stage, her first song being a little Irish number called "Danny Boy."
Journey South loved her performance and due to this asked her to support them at an up and coming gig at White Haven Civic Hall.
On the 31st October Gem did a 30 minuite slot before the lads from Journey South went on,
singing the following songs, Iris - Goo Goo Dolls, Black Horse in a Cherry Tree- Kt Tunstall, Ain't No Sunshine- Eva Cassidy, Danny Boy - Eva Cassidy, Golden Touch - Razorlight, Arms of he Angel - Sarah Mclachlan, and to finish off California Dreaming- Mamas Papas.
Gem is a good golfer that had a handicap of 3, but she put her clubs up to follow her true passion- music.
She also has a part time job on Golf Reception at Aston Wood Golf Club.
This is the story so far.
