Gena's publicly and critically acclaimed political zine, The CIA Makes Science Fiction Unexciting, Vol. 3 (Microcosm Publishing), is now on display at Chicago's Museum of Contemporary Art, as part of the museum's USA Today exhibition. Other artists' books in the exhibition include works by Yoko Ono, Joseph Beuys, and Jenny Holzer. The show runs through March 15, 2009. Her zine's first two printings having sold out across the country, Gena recently wrote an update for the third edition. The latest version (which includes new sections on human microchipping and current mind control technology) is due out this year.
In 2007, Mason launched the first episode of her new TV show, "Alien Nation," on Manhattan Neighborhood Network and the world-wide web. Episode 3, now airing on Manhattan Neighborhood Network TV, focuses on secret societies. Catch it also on Gena's vlog at: genamason-aliennation.blogspot.com/.
Gena Mason is currently demoing tracks for her next record, tentatively entitled Empire. Borrowing ideas from such diverse sources as Igor Stravinsky, Nine Inch Nails, and Syd Barrett, Gena's second full-length album shows her branching off into different musical directions. In 2007 Gena finished recording and mixing Testament, her second commercial release and first full-length album. The recording session followed 6 months during which Gena trained with famed vocal coach Don Lawrence (Christina Aguilera, Rolling Stones, Bono).
Somehow, Gena is completing all of these projects while also studying at the Columbia University School of Law. As part of her coursework, last semester Gena interned for artist Alex Grey at his gallery, CoSM. Grey is popularly known for his album art for such bands as Tool and Nirvana.
Mason writes, sings, and plays guitar, bass, keyboards, drums, drum machine, and other percussion. She has graced stages in New York, NY; Los Angeles; Seattle; San Francisco; Washington, D.C.; Austin, TX; Nashville, TN; Portland, OR; Pittsburgh, PA; Olympia, WA; Boise, ID; Burlington, VT; and Santa Cruz, CA. Her music has been in rotation on college and community radio in Los Angeles, Portland, Olympia, Provincetown, and online.

SPAMED! Can you ever forgive me? If so, please vote for me!
I am in Round Two of The TRCoA Unsigned Artist Competition. Help me get to Round Three by clicking my face and voting for me!
If I’m in the top 4 I get to play a showcase for record executives and could win 100 free hours in the studio.
If I were selected, it would really help me rock some faces off, please take a second and vote.
Thanks!
