I have quite eclectic tastes in music - probably a sign of age, but when it come to my favourite music it is nearly all from one period - the late sixties and early seventies - the Hippy Era. My favourite band is Pink Floyd - but why not check out my Hippy Chick Lens on Squidoo for a complete insight and details of some fabulous music. Better still why not listen to my Radio.
Movies
I don't seem to get to the movies much now - but Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter got me there - fantastic epic movies - I also love movies about trans issues - Trans America, Beautiful Boxer, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Farewell My Concubine. However one of my all time favourite movies is "Chocolat" - the best chick flick ever.
Television
I love crime programmes especially Poirot, Miss Marple, Touch of Frost, Waking the Dead, Silent Witness, Sherlock Holmes, Spooks... you will notice these are all UK shows - I do like CSI but so many US programmes lack that gritty reality of British TV. Oh and I know this is sad - but I am a Big Brother fan - I love to study people and Big Brother is a fabulous pressure cooker in which to study human behaviour.
Books
I have nearly 2000 books - but about 20 of them are fiction - where do I start - I read a lot - but I seldom finish a book. My books are for dipping into - public speaking, humour, writing, sales, marketing speaking, management, business, personal development, NLP. psychology, poetry, ancient mysteries, biblical history, acting, voice, web site development, gender studies and trans issues...
Being proudly and openly transgender has given me a gift of understanding the differences in the way men and women communicate.
I have over 30 years experience in Sales and Marketing Communications and speak and write about this topic at every opportunity. I also have a passion for Public Speaking and was the founder and first president of the Professional Speakers Association.
I work mainly with women in business, speaking and chairing at conferences, seminars and trade shows and coaching in how to be Outstanding speakers and helping them to market their businesses more effectively - and helping men to understand women better.
Music I am listening to Now.
PEPP Talk Video
The Video below is an 8 minute edit of a 45 minute keynote speech I often deliver to women in business. I believe public speaking is THE number one key to personal development and although edited this video still retains the essential elements of my PEPP Talk approach to becoming an outstanding speaker.
Rikki Arundel - Speaking Showreel
Who I'd like to meet: I'd mostly like to meet Eddie Izzard - I think he did such a lot to make cross dressing and therefore being trans acceptable to the public - I owe a lot to him in providing a role model when I decided to come out.
Trawling through my list of Friends I thought, "Hey steve, it is about time I stop by and send a positive greeting to Rikki and thank them for being a part of my network of Friends."
I know everyone of us has to power and energy within to make the most of there lives. Rikki you have that inner strength just believe in it and it will take you far. My network of friends sure would not be the same without you.
