While I strive for my own sound, I've been influenced through the years by these great guitarists:
Carlos Santana- Seeing him play Soul Sacrifice at a young age is probably what got me started.
Listen to my "Torqued" and you might hear a little early Santana coming through at the end.
Peter Frampton- I like to think my "Big Cities" and "Sideshow" sound a little Frampton-like if you've ever heard some of
his solo work.
Trey Anastasio (Phish)- Probably influenced the extreme free-form style of "Hot Tonight", "Formation" and "Night Rolls On".
He's not afraid to try things.
Joe Satriani- I'd love to say I sound a little like Satriani in "High Noon/ The Showdown". But he's 50 times better.
Eric Johnson- His guitar sounds way too cool. It inspired me to come up with my own tone in "So Much to Say to You".
The Western sound in some of my songs is probably a credit to him.

Instrumental guitar subtly fuses rock, smooth jazz, jam, and Latin. Several songs could be soundtracks for a movie. Physical CDs and Digital music available through www.geneguinter.com
Just wanted to stop by to say hey. Any new tracks? I'll take a detailed listen in a few days and give you some new song reviews. Sound good?
I've been busy learning this whole computer music production thing. My external multitracker broke on me, so I was forced to go ahead and proceed onto computer software. So far, so good! I just need to figure out how to get some VSTi's working (like piano and violin - would be great!). Anyways, I've posted 3 songs since I started using the PC, so hopefully you can hear the new level of quality in them:
