BIOGRAPHY-
A native son of Santurce, a town in San Juan, Puerto Rico also known as Cangrejo (crab), Gene is an Afro-Latin Percussionist Extraordinaire. During his upbringing Gene was surrounded by African rhythms fused with the rhythms of the Caribbean and Latin cultures. Arriving in the mainland with his father they lived first in Philadelphia then moved to San Diego, California in 1968. Gene formed the group Afro Rumba in the summer of 1983 ; traditional rhythms wich originated in Africa and Rumbas which are Cuban musical dance forms became are specialty and gave the group its name. Today the group ranges from a two to eight piece Band playing Latin jazz and Salsa rhythms. Our music talks about love, passion,life and its struggles. Music is a very important part of our lives. We would like people to listen to our message and enjoy the free expression of art in our music. "EL MOMENTO ES AHORA -OUR TIME HAS COME!

PICO DE GALLO was founded by Bassit/composer Oscar E. Angulo in 1998. The band has just released his format called "VENGO DEL DESÏERTO" A collaboration with members from Luis Miguel, Christian Castro, Big Mountain, Agua Dulce, Afrotruko , Trece de la Suerte and Son de Aca. PICO DE GALLO started as latin funk musical idea in Germany playing in diferent venues and taking different names like CORA-SON and LOS VATOS. The Band is at the process of a reformation and getting ready to hit the streets of Dan Diego and the Baja Area...keep in touch for futher details!
