a rock group with enough metronomic menace to attract indie diehards and disenfranchised clubbers
Adani & Wolf, James and Del Enque have built with General Electric Paradise a rock group with enough metronomic menace to attract indie diehards and disenfranchised clubbers.
General Electric Paradise can be considered as the Phoenix risen from the ashes of the award winning drum&bass crossover band PROJECT 2000*. This innovative, adventurous, energetic and highly danceable collective was originated by the Amsterdam producer duo Adani & Wolf in 1999.
Due to their continuing quest for creative innovation inspired by the spirit and freedom of the heroes from the 70’ and the relentless force from the dance floor of today, an alliance was initiated, with the multitalented young singer/guitar player Leon James and virtuous drummer percussionist Arthur Del Enque in the beginning of 2006. GEP was born!
GEP, on stage as well as in the studio, is combining the solid bottom; tight beats & strong bass, the fat electronics & energetic performance, known from the Project 2000 era with rock, pop and song elements enriched with charismatic though altruistic contribution of the guitars, vocals and live drums played by James and Del Enque.
*With PROJECT 2000 Adani & Wolf experienced some pretty hot musical adventures. Quite soon after they got started the band got awarded with the 2000/2001 edition of the Heineken Crossover Award. Debut album 'It's about Time' was very well received and for some years PROJECT 2000 toured on the Dutch festival scene. Gigs were played such as: Drum Rhythm Festival, Lowlands, the helicopter tour on Dutch Liberation Day 5th of may, Mysteryland, Dancevalley, Noorderslag, Uitmarkt etc etc...
