Sounds Like
like a conference meeting at peak hour, mixed with women singing beautiful songs on the beach at sunset.
The General Managers are an award winning band gaining popularity in the music industry on the eastern seaboard of Australia.
The up and coming young Newcastle band made an impact on music industry with a distinguished 3rd place in the prestigious "YOUTHROCK" competition in 2007, (which was narrowed down from a field of over 130 school and tafe bands) from across the state.
The band then went onto be finalists in the “Rock category” of the ABC MUSIC AWARDS, then weeks later winning the “MATARRA FESTIVAL” ‘Let there be School Rock” competition.
With media catching hold the band went onto to radio interviews at “The Sydney Royal Easter Show” and Lockup Garage.
Local and Country Newspapers also covered the bands success, with The Star, The Herald, The Post, TE and The Dubbo Times, all keen to interview the young rising stars.
The guys have performed at such venues at The Sydney Royal Easter Show in 2007 and 2008, and supported the likes of MUSICOZ winners Solver.
March 2008 saw the band entering a competition held by GRAYLABEL Producers, which required a single entered by the band. A panel of 5 music industry professionals then placed ‘Till the Morning’ in the top 5 singles, in acclaimed company of many touring acts.
“We all agree that you guys have that something unique and I hope the next time you are looking for a producer you will consider looking me up. I am so impressed with the band” Chris Gray “GRAYLABEL”
The band headed to Sydney in April 2008 entering the Sydney Hotshots competition, walking away with a distinguished 3rd place from 3 heats and a grand final. This competition caught the eye of GRAHAM BUZZ BIDSTRUPT (The Angels, GANGgajang) who was a guest judge. BUZZ is now eagerly awaiting a demo of new material which he has requested.
Members are Adam Kennedy on lead vocals and guitar, Jarrod Gibson on bass and backing vocals and Tristan Jan mixing it up on drums produce high-energy rock and aim to get the audience out of their seats.
The General Managers have a strong alternative / rock influence, with a strong groove and bass lines that will get you dancing, add this with melodic harmonies and a little bit of craziness….
and you have THE GENERAL MANAGERS!!!!
The band is setting in motion a CD release later on in the year.
LIKE THE NAME THESE GUYS MEAN BUSINESS!!!!!
