General Pow (Brian Sheridan)--Guitar And Vocals;
Major Pow (Jodie Schell)--Guitar And Vocals;
Lieutenant Pow (John Bobek)--Guitar And Vocals;
Our Two new recruits: Adam Crowell (Percussion) and Nick Olszewski (Bass Guitar)...who have not yet ranked themselves yet...
General Pow is a layered acoustic melodic folk/rock band (yep.) that started over a year ago playing all them pretty places like the Joint, Zen Sushi, the Space, UBG, bladeelah. However, bandmates Brian Sheridan and Jodie Schell started performing together back at Marquette University almost 6 years ago. That was back when they thought John Bobek was just a wicked good sound guy, and Nick O was just the best one to party with after a show. (who knew? ok? who knew? we DIDN'T....don't judge)...............
The four of them reunited in LA years later to form a full band with Nick O on bass, John on the 12 string and singing, Jodie playing guitar/tambourine and singing, Brian on lead guitar and vocals, and newest friend/bandmate Adam Crowell on percussion and energy (he seriously gave General Pow a pulse).
......................
The band name is a direct reference to Brian's highly-revered MGD-induced alter-ego....it's also a reference to how good folk/rock can feel like a big swift punch in the face. mmmm, do it again.....
Are you around this weekend? Slow Dance on the Killing Ground has 2-4-1 tickets if you mention my name when you make a reservation. 818-754-1423/www.AthenaTheatre.com. I hope to see you this weekend!
that was the best living room concert i've ever been to! thanks for that fabulous music. general pow: unplugged = good times. have a great show this week!
The band is bigger!! The band is bigger!! There are new boys in the band!!! yeah!!!! Can't wait to see the new and improved General Pow next week. Rock on!!!
So I've been thinking, and here is what I've decided: It is absolutely unacceptable that I miss any of your shows. Therefore, all future bookings should be run past my people before they are confirmed. That way I can guarantee my presence and embarassing screaming at each and every show. Yup, I've decided!!
general pow makes me question all music i have ever loved in the past.
it has opened my eyes to what real music is...
i shall now burn all cd's i ever owned and only listen to LIGHTS ARE LOW on repeat... VIVE LA GENERAL POW!
