Born, William Cruickshank in Jamaica, Shanky aka General Shanky's phenomenal talent was recognised at an early age, inspired and encouraged by all around him, he has his roots firmly planted in reggae culture, it's in his blood and on every leaf of his family tree. His uncle is 'Stranjah Cole', who laid down numerous legendary hits in the 60's and 70's teaming up with such legends as Ken Boothe & Tommy McCook to name a few. And he spent his youth performing with his cousin 'Squidly' who is well known for his association with the Marley family as well as appearing with Louie Culture at many prestigious events. While building on a loyal following through organizing stage shows and performing alongside respected worldwide artists such as Beenie Man, Capleton, Richie Spice and etc, Shanky turned his attention to establishing his own record label, DJAM Records. Releasing instantly successful collaborations with Bajie Man, Richie Spice and a huge list of artists which are still to this day being distributed in the U.S, Japanese and European markets, and the label continues to grow from strength to strength.
He performed on stage shows around Jamaica...USA, UK and the Caribbean as he toured with his brethren from youth...Louie Culture. His On-stage performances can be seen on DVDs on the annually event In his hometown ,Portland----"Portland Splash"...and Summer jam" .
But as time goes by, Shanky's maturity shines through, his music roots itself in the reggae/hip/hop genre sometimes a little RnB as he continue to use his unstealable skills to spread his message as he branches into collaboration with several artists around the world .... and his songs can be heard on many radio station ..in the uk & Europe ...Jamaica ...Canada... USA Germany…as his music is continuously requested for airplay. Most recently he has extensively toured the U.S, U.K and the Caribbean and his on stage performances are a notorious force to be reckoned with.

Yes harmony is difficult, on no one it carnt depend, it means to meet a stranger, hold his hand and be his friend, accept all people as they are, respect what they believe.
