...also these, if you take out a little bit of the heavy rock edge: The Vines, Lifehouse, Stereophonics, Kings of Leon, Fallout Boy, The Bravery, The Killers, ETC, The Transplants, All American Rejects, Jet, etc....

GENERATION OF LIGHT BIO
... Ming of Ming+FS, along with multi-instrumentalist Jesse Graham (Freak Power/Fatboy Slim, Spacek, Violet Indiana), and indie-rocker Jason Bowers formed the band Generation of Light out of a common disregard for current pop/rock, and a common Love of The Truth.
Generation of Lights self-released debut The Truth hits this planet on October 24, 2006. G-of-L serves their radio-ready, signature sound: laced with hard-rockin beats and strong doses of psychadelic-era pop sense and dub/reggae vibes.
G-of-L Guitarist and DJ Mings accomplishments speak for themselves. As Ming+FS he released the classic Hells Kitchen album (Om Records) which helped found the North American electronic scene and put drum n bass music on the map. Ming was featured in URB's "Next 100" and the pages of Spin, XLR8R, and Mixer and was invited to share the stage with artists including Moby, Sting, Paul Oakenfold, Kruder & Dorfmeister, and The Roots.
Jesse Graham also brings a wealth of artistic accomlishments to G-of-L. As a member of Freak Power, Graham had a UK hit single with 'Turn On, Tune In, Cop Out;' performed on Top of the Pops, MTV Europe, The CBS Morning Show, CDUK, and Hotel Babylon; and contributed music to 2004's critically-acclaimed film 'Code 46.'
Lead singer Jason Bowers musical aspirations came true from the flourishing Midwest-alternative scene that birthed The Get Up Kids; Bright Eyes; and Kansas Citys The Golden Republic (Astralwerks), which he was originally a member of. He was also a former bandmate with Ken Jankowski of the Republic tigers (Atlantic), in the band Avionic. Bowers was a finalist in the 2002 and 2003 John Lennon/BMI Songwriting Contests and released an independent album that snatched up CMJ charts nation-wide and several TV placements on MTV, MTV2, CBS, and E!. Bowers toured the Midwest, opening for national acts including Art Alexakis of Everclear, Mest, and The Riddilin Kids.
Now, at home in the city, and as lead singer of G-of-L, Bowers has performed on Joey Reynolds show (W0R radio); at a BMI Showcase at The Living Room; and at The Knitting Factory, Sin-e', and Arlene's Grocery, among other venues. Bowers Generation of Light is the first in THIS generation. Links to new music projects in the future will be posted here as well...
