For over 16 years Genghis has been presenting some of the finest in up and coming talent in the Los Angeles/Hollywood area. Artists who have performed there in the early stages of their careers include: Martin Sexton, Beth Hart, Dar Williams, Tyler Hilton, Macy Gray, Jill Sobule, Shawn Mullins, Dan Bern, Danny Peck etc Guest artists have included Joni Mitchell, James Taylor, Joe Walsh & Mick Taylor.
Genghis is the first stop for unsigned national and local talent and hosts a BMI showcase each month and many record label showcases. Acts are heavily screened for talent and ability so there are incredible evenings of music at the venue. The adjacent Chinese restaurant features excellent exotic szechuan cuisine and is a hub of activity for both the record and film industry, stars feel at home without the usual hassle of Hollywood.
