Gengus are a young band from the City of Dublin. Mad to make an impact and get their music heard. All four members are 23 years or younger. They've been together for around 3 years now, but recently kicked into gear due to a line-up change.
Gengus:
Dean Doyle: Drums
Philip 'Pip' Moore: Bass
Paul Moreau: Guitar
Rory 'Ron' Mc Donald: Vox, Guitar, Harmonica
In their time together they've had many songs come & go, they are now confident they are working with a strong set, that represents what they're doing.
Never one's to follow trends the lads have resisted the current 'indie rock movement' and stuck to their guns, doing what they can to develop their own personal sound. Among their many influences major players Paul Weller, Bob Dylan, The Verve, The Clash. But that's just a small number of their treasured musical aspirations, other influences include everything from Hank Williams & Miles Davis to modern groups like the Libertines. The band have worked up a good loyal following in the South Dublin area, and lately have been received warmly in many city centre venues.
Gengus In Their Own Words:
"A Dublin band tryin' to make a livin' out of a thing called Music,
You've probably heard of it.
A Band of no fixed ability.
We're lazy and full of want, and we want you!" Ron 2005
"As a band we like to compare ourselves with Stephen Hawking during his school days ; a genius with very few friends." Paul 2006

Alright Lads was thinking of chasing down minion for slot at
that gig in bray but our bass player is out of action next weekend.
I should be down for a an ol sniff around tho.
I'm so flattered at all the good comments I've been getting about my song, Cast Adrift.
If you like the track and would like to hear more, it would help if I could afford a couple days recording time - show your support! - the song is available on iTunes.
Wow......more sell outs this last week, and some great gigs despite Ray breaking a tooth on stage on Thursday.
Unfortunately we did have to re-schedule our gig for the Sunday in Wigan which will now take place on Sat 19th May,please accept our sincerest apologies, it's not something we like to do. More details will go live on our site.
Here's a little ad for a good friend of ours "Twink", he was The Jam's official photographer and has put together a book of never seen before Jam pics.
Hey There! Just dropping by to see if all's well? We have some new songs on our profile, if you get chance give them a blast and let us know what you think.
