Genius Deejay began as a music producer in the year 2000 and in that first year he had 16 music nominations among the top 15 artists in Europe in the biggest and most popular music competition ever made, sponsored by eJay music software and MTV music television, where very well known artists were some of the members of the juri.
After being the artist with more nominations in a whole year of competition, he got the title of best electronic music producer. As a result MTV International shown the video of his best music among with an interview during the next days. Due to the success achieved he gained attention from many artists all over the planet. Later he started producing music with some of this same artists and one of the tracks reached second best place in the world in the competition “eJay of the world”.
All this DJs and Producers working together with Genius Deejay were united in a group named “MAO - Musique Assistée par Ordinateur ”. This group set his work base in Belgium and became managed by Louvdc. The strong connection and friendship that rise from this union allowed lots of group productions and exchange of knowledge and experience, although the members where living in distant and different countries such as Portugal, Belgium, France, Russia and United States. This project allowed Genius Deejay to keep himself on the top till the end of his activity as a producer in 2003.
During this years he was eJay most nominated artist from 2000 to 2001 (16 nominations for TOP15 Europe), achieved world first place in Techno (January 2003) and world first place in Dance music (April 2003) at vitaminic.com, add more than 30 tracks on top 20 world in the well-known besonic.com and edited, especially and due to requests of fans in Belgium and France, CDs with his most popular tracks. At the same time he was receiving invitations from Portugal and Belgium to perform as a DJ and DJs all over the world where playing his music in bars and clubs. So he finally decided to show his abilities as a DJ in public. The first performances where made in college parties and success was immediate and without a doubt, sometimes causing the closing of secondary dance floors due to the fact that everybody was all night dancing in his.
From 2003 to 2007 Genius Deejay decided to artistically explore the most different environments and audience, as a way to know more closely several styles, sounds and genres, beyond the music itself and also as a way to challenge himself. He performed in the most different events and for the most different people, in genres like Eurotrance, House, Tribal, Electro, Pop, HipHop, Arab, ChillOut, Metal, Gothic, Darkwave, Industrial, Gabber and Hardstyle, among others. Success was always high in all situations and he received words of appreciation from the most various audiences, such as the fans of Techno, Electro, House, Gothic, Metal and Gabber, among others.
At the same time that Genius Deejay started as a DJ he also became an organizer of music events. During this period he promoted, helped, introduced and even formed many DJs, most of them becoming successful in this events and in the next during their career in Djing.
Among many things he also organized the first Portuguese Gabber events.
In the year of 2007 Genius Deejay decides to focus on promoting is own music, new events and only original artists.
During his entire path in music Genius Deejay was helped, advised and supported by many important DJs and Producers like Louvdc from Belgium and DJ Overdrive from France. But it is also due to the fantastic and enthusiastic response of the fans and clubbers all over the world that the original musical concept of Genius Deejay has been on for so many years in full energy.
