GENRE PEAK is the electro-trance-rock music of Martin Birke.
Now joined by singer Percy Howard in 2009 Genre Peak is working with such diverse talents as Canadian singer-songwriter Tara C. Taylor, former Japan bassist Mick Karn, New Sun guitarist/producer Christopher Scott Cooper and Claire Voyant's Chris Ross .
Martin Birke's history includes recording and touring with his former bands Sandbox Trio and Casualty Park , scores for The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre and several independent films . Martin and Stephen Sullivan are also the ambient band Microsphere.
Percy Howard has worked on several albums and tours with Bill Laswell , Trey Gunn, Jarboe as well as his former band NUS and ongoing project Meridiem...and many others. His unique vocals and collaborations have been praised by major music critiques and artists around the world.
Now Percy and Martin take Genre Peak in a new direction of trip-hop and electronic alternatives . Having recently recorded with Mick Karn and Tara C. Taylor again GP continues to evolve from album to album.
