About GENRE PEAK

GENRE PEAK is the electro-trance-rock music of Martin Birke. An international project utilizing such diverse talents as Canadian singer-songwriter Tara C. Taylor, former Japan bassist Mick Karn , Spanish electro-pop artists Stereoskop, Maximum Indifference bassist Gustaf Fjelstrom, New Sun guitarist/producer Christopher Scott Cooper , French pop act Kiss & Fly and former NUS guitar-synth artist Stephen Sullivan. Martin's history includes recording and touring with his former bands Sandbox Trio and Casualty Park , scores for The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre and several independent films . Martin and Stephen are also the ambient band Microsphere.

Ends of the Earth is Genre Peak's debut album . The record was the trio of Martin Birke , Daniel Panasenko and Stephen Sullivan. The band toured regionally achieving a tight unique groove-based sound but after a year they disbanded . Martin decided to re-invent GP with more players from around the world and change the sound of GP from rock to a more electronic-trance themed project.

Preternatural the second album achieved a better produced collection of songs involving new players and singers . Reviews echoed the evolution of Preternatural setting Genre Peak apart from the norm of modern pop and Martin as an original songwriter intent on stepping off the mainstream.
