"The Record, The Keepsake, and The Thief" 2008 - Self Released
"The Fault is a very diverse record, in fact it would be difficult for anyone with a passing interest in the genre to not like at least one of the songs on the album. There’s the post hardcore style screams, the poppy rock numbers, the meaningful piano ballads and the progressive style experimentation. The best thing about the album is that throughout all these genre switches the band still manages to infuse themselves into each song, instead of just aping other bands styles." - ALTER THE PRESS!
"Gentlemen and Scholars album The Record, the Keepsake, and the Thief course through a wide stretch of terrain that all manage to segue into each other as if it was tilled by the same maker. The album has swigs of stately piano reels fitted into hard rock molds in a way that few bands attempt. It is what makes Gentlemen and Scholars album unconventional, and yet, it gives the band an identity that has the potential to captivate audiences and keep them enthralled. 84/100" -Absolutepunk.net
About Gentlemen and Scholars(The Fault IN STORES NOW!!)
It's not a good story without some drama. So, in the band Gentlemen and Scholars, everybody hates one another. Each day is another episode of on ongoing soap opera, complete with amnesia, love affairs and evil twins.
But the real (and less exciting) story is as follows: After years of playing in semi-rival bands in the area, the guys joined together in the summer of 2008 and immediately hit the road. And since then, they have learned a lot about each other along the way. For example, Wes gets naked from time to time and humps dead animals. Pat enjoys every latest technology and that green tea stuff from Panera Bread. Jeremiah proves how much he loves America with his star spangled cut-off shirt. Kyle gets us to meet cool guys who have a dog in a cast. And Adam goes to the Tree Bar and falls down the hill. Confused? You shouldn't be. That is just tour.
December of 2008 Gentlemen and Scholars signed a record deal for a full length cd on Torque Records (www.torquerecords.net). It is scheduled to be released October 27th with tours to follow. So be on the look out for the boys with vests, funny glasses and blood on their shirts. To them, there are no rules to music. There are no borders, there are no boundaries. The only thing that exists is the need and love to create new and interesting music.
