Happy Happy Birthday to you!!!!!!!!! I was wishing I could have talked to you after chapel, but I had to take off before chapel was even over. We'll have to catch up soon. Thanks for e-mailing back awhile ago! I'm praying for you guys. See you on Sunday? Apparently I'm supposed to come early in uniform to stand at a table??? I dunno.
I wear no uniforms, no blues or army greens. But I am in the military in the ranks rarely seen. I have no rank upon my shoulders. salutes I do not give. But the military world is the place where I live.
I'm not in the chain of command, orders I do not get. But my husband is the one who does, this I cannot forget. I'm not the ones who fires the weapon, who puts my life on the line. But my job is just as tough. I am the one that's left behind.
My husband is a patriot, a brave prideful man and the call to serve his country, not all can understand. Behind the lines I see the things needed to keep this country free. My husband makes the sacrifice, but so do our kids and me.
I love the man I married. Soldiering is his life. But I stand among the silent ranks known as the Military Wife
**Pass it on or don't pass it on but, please remember the troops and their families who make the ultimate sacrafice for the freedom we all know and love!**
You get double points for bein an Army Wife and....a Soldier...HOOOOOOAH

Mrs. Military Spouse...
I SALUTE & Appreciate you!
Some things we keep... I grew up in the fifties with practical parents -- a Mother, God love her, who washed aluminum foil after she cooked in it, then reused it. She was the original recycle queen, before they had a name for it... A Father who was happier getting old shoes fixed than buying new ones. Their marriage was good, their dreams focused. Their best friends lived barely a wave away. I can see them now, Dad in trousers, tee shirt and a hat and Mom in a house dress, lawn mower in one hand, dishtowel in the other. It was the time for fixing things -- a curtain rod, the kitchen radio, screen door, the oven door, the hem in a dress. Things we keep. It was a way of life, and sometimes it made me crazy. All that re-fixing, reheating, renewing, I wanted just once to be wasteful. Waste meant affluence. Throwing things away meant there'd always be more. But then my Mother died, and on that clear summer's night, in the warmth of the hospital room, I was struck with the pain of learning that sometimes there isn't any 'more.' Sometimes, what we care about most gets all used up and goes away...never to return. So...while we have it...it's best we love it.....and care for it.....and fix it when it's broken.....and heal it when it's sick. This is true.....for marriage.....and oldcars.....and children with bad report cards.....and dogs with bad hips..... and aging parents.....and grandparents. We keep them because they are worth it, because we are worth it. Some things we keep. Like a best friend that moved away -- or -- a classmate we grew up with. There are just some things that make life important, like people we know who are special.....and so, we keep them close! Now send this to all those people that are "keepers" in your life ...like you!!
