Geo C And Tha Storm, created by Geo C, is Youngstown's premiere funk band. Born and raised in Painsville, Ohio, Geo came to Youngstown to attend YSU and has been there ever since. He opened his record shop downtown in 1996 ( Geo's Music is located at 102 Federal Plaza West ) and formed the band in 2003. Geo has many musicial influences such as Prince, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, and funkadelic but adds his own flavor to all his songwriting and performances. He is the founder, bandleader, and main writer for the band but is always willing to spotlight his hand picked musicians. Geo's original compositions are filled with a message of hope and positivity, but he still keeps it funky, also adding his self-taught keyboard skills to the mix. His enthusiam for not only his own creations, but music of all kinds is infectious to those he works with and the audiences at the band's high-energy shows. When Geo takes the stage his charisma is bound to delight people of any age, from his flashy suits to his powerful voice. Currently the 7-member ensemble performs both original and popular cover songs from James Brown to Rick James. The band showcases some of the most talented musicians in Youngstown. Geo C And Tha Storm has opened for such legendary bands as The Whispers, P-Funk All Stars, and The Isley Brothers; and are looking forward to many more exciting shows to come. They have released 2 full length studio albums entitled "Truth, Funk, Experience" and "A Better Way", and a live album called "Fonkin' Up Yo' Town". Don't miss the newest album "Geology" available in early 2008. Geo C And Tha Storm's energetic and hard driving shows guaranteed to make you dance entertain not only Youngstown, but many surrounding areas in Ohio, Pennsylvania and more sure to come.
Nonetheless everything you hear and see is 100% real !!!! Last but not least the unofficial site is run by a friend. This does not go to Geo C directly.
