Geoff Brown is an ecclectic musician, multi-instrumentalist, and composer from Boston, MA. Gaining most of his training on guitar and mandolin, he has played in many groups ranging from rock, funk, and blues, to blugrass, celtic, jazz, and classical. He is a graduate of The Guitar Institute of Technology (GIT), Hollywood, CA and earned his BA in Music at Tufts University, Medford, MA where he studied classical composition, and played in jazz, african, javanese gamelan, and klezmer ensembles along the way. His recordings reflect his diverse background of styles, fusing his influences into an original fresh sound. Hey Geoff, thought you might get a kick out of a new demo I posted. I haven't touched my crappy banjo or mandolin in forever so I stupidly decided to record a tune that features both! It's some out of tune goodness but wtf. hehe. I built the song by editing a banjo improv so it's raw! See you Friday.
