When college doesn’t appeal to you, you can’t find a good job, and you have a hard time passing drug tests, you’re really only left with one career option, stand-up comedy. Geoff Tate discovered this life path only a few short years ago but is already making it work for him. Now as a professional comedian and freelance joke writer, Tate is living the dream; enjoying a life of sitting around, eating sandwiches, sleeping in and watching TV, that is, when he’s not up on stage. He has appeared on the nationally syndicated morning radio program The Bob and Tom Show and will be making his television debut on Comedy Central’s Live at Gotham this summer.

About me: Live At Gotham
I do stand up comedy. I prefer baseball to the other sports, and I think you're wrong if you disagree with that. Football is for meatheads and basketball is for rap fans. I like sandwiches and sleeping late. I like to read and I hate the glorification of stupidity. Smart people are better than dumb people-by definition.
Who I'd like to meet: Hunter S. Thompson, Thompson's lawyer, Kurt Vonnegut, Tom Petty, the Earl of Sandwich, people who know what the Alamo is all about, Kerouac, Mitch Hedberg, Jesus and/or Santa Claus, Bill Murray, Mark Grace, Peter Gammons, Warren Zevon, David Letterman, Al Franken, Bob Dylan, any member of Monty Python, Bill Cosby
hey geoff! just wanted to tell you how much my friends and i enjoyed your set friday. (i bought tickets and was standing outside waiting for my friends to find parking while you were having a cig and reading aloud about some guy's "great first trip to philly", which i also enjoyed. ) anyway, we decided you were hands down better than the actual headliner, and are hoping you do another show in philly soon!
you might like this...i went to the UC vs WVU football game and afterwards I received this heckle: "Go back to Ohio and vote for Obama. Jesus is coming back and coming to West Virginia first, and then for the Jews"
