George Byrne is a musician who writes lovely tunes - some quiet some loud, some slow some fast. Some people say the music could be described as ‘Pink Floyd Americana' and others say it's nothing of the sort. In any case it's melodic and of high quality.
His first (and only) LP ‘Foreign Water’ was released to critical acclaim in Australia, UK and most recently the US. Featuring guest appearances by Lior and Holly Throsby, and made with the help of producers Jonathan Burnside (The Sleepy Jackson) and Tim Powles (The Church), Foreign Water was an important and unique debut release that launched George’s career in style.
Described as “A stunning debut of quietly beautiful songs” (Kathy McCabe, Daily Telegraph), ‘Foreign Water’ first got the attention of UK MOJO (No 1 New Release Playlist) and then Tori Amos, who invited George to tour with her around Australia.
Since then George has showcased SxSW, toured Australia & Europe (with Jason Molina and LIOR) and most recently returned to NYC & LA for a 12 show run in conjunction with his records US release.
In amongst all this George also found time to release a sneeky EP, a heart-wrenching acoustic side-project called ‘Beat In Time’ and - with some new found $ help - just spent two months in NYC working on pre-production for his 2nd studio record with some of the best bands in the world. So for gods sake, stay tuned!

Foreign Water Press:
"Byrne sits between weariness and wakefulness: finger-picked guitar, gentle country-rock ambience, harmonica and a voice that can turn sad at the drop of a battered hat there’s real talent here." - Bernard Zuel, SMH
"A stunning debut of quietly beautiful songs from a Sydney singer-songwriter Byrne offers laid-back, rootsy rock gems which draw you in with their simple melodies and hooks and his smooth-as-silk, lazy Sunday drawl." - The Daily Telegraph
"These tales of romance, travel and life-acquired yearnings make for effortless but absorbing listening this is a singer with a distinctly Australian way of sharing his stories with you." - The Courier Mail

In your artwork on your second promo poster in your album you are Georg Byrne - I make an amusing remark but the myspace Gods refused to accept it! Go see now Mr Byrne
It looks great reversed - I like it better too.... the bridge REALLY works. I think you should get the posters printed inverse! I can output another file like that if you like. Let me know!
Oh and did you see you need an "e" GB an "e" on your other artwork - lmfao
