   George C. Chesbro's Blurbs
About me:
George C. Chesbro is the author of 27 books, including the renowned Mongo mystery series. His first novel, King's Gambit, was published in 1976, and his most recent book, Strange Prey and Other Tales of the Hunt, was published in December 2004.

Dr. Robert Frederickson, also known as Mongo the Magnificent, is a criminologist, ex-circus headliner, martial-arts expert, and private eye, who also happens to be a dwarf. The Mongo series is a blend of mystery, suspense, science fiction, and the supernatural.

A Mongo movie, based on An Affair of Sorcerers and starring Peter Dinklage, is in the works!

In addition to the Mongo novels, Chesbro has written several novels featuring other characters from the Mongo universe, as well as a few standalone novels, including Bone and 2000's The Keeper.

Hope your wife and you had a great winter. Thank you so much for the book, I really enjoyed it. Maybe you can make it to Stanley this summer with your family.

And suddenly, I have tears in my eyes and feel a blinding urge to babble uncontrollably, because quite literally, sir, YOUR BOOKS CHANGED MY LIFE.

I was a voracious reader, but once I found the Mongo books, I was absolutely stunned by how much fun it could be to fall in love with a character and his world.

I don't think I'd have ever written if I hadn't discovered your books.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

I am so very pleased to see you on Myspace, and grateful to you for sharing your talent with us.

Annabel Lee by Edgar Allan Poe

It was many and many a year ago,
In a kingdom by the sea,
That a maiden there lived whom you may know
By the name of ANNABEL LEE;
And this maiden she lived with no other thought
Than to love and be loved by me.

I was a child and she was a child,
In this kingdom by the sea;
But we loved with a love that was more than love-
I and my Annabel Lee;
With a love that the winged seraphs of heaven
Coveted her and me.

And this was the reason that, long ago,
In this kingdom by the sea,
A wind blew out of a cloud, chilling
My beautiful Annabel Lee;
So that her highborn kinsman came
And bore her away from me,
To shut her up in a sepulchre
In this kingdom by the sea.

The angels, not half so happy in heaven,
Went envying her and me-
Yes!- that was the reason (as all men know,
In this kingdom by the sea)
That the wind came out of the cloud by night,
Chilling and killing my Annabel Lee.

But our love it was stronger by far than the love
Of those who were older than we-
Of many far wiser than we-
And neither the angels in heaven above,
Nor the demons down under the sea,
Can ever dissever my soul from the soul
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee.

For the moon never beams without bringing me dreams
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
And the stars never rise but I feel the bright eyes
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
And so, all the night-tide, I lie down by the side
Of my darling- my darling- my life and my bride,
In the sepulchre there by the sea,
In her tomb by the sounding sea.

Thanks for the request, I discovered your world with Bone and really enjoyed your style. I got to read the Mongo series then and have kept reading your books since. Mongo is really one of my heroes. I'm so glad you found me. Thanks.
