Hello folks, just a little spam for ya. Thing's are pretty hectic at Please Please You this month as you can see!

Wed. July 2nd. David Karsten Daniels, Burial In The Sky + Boss Caine, The Basement, York, 8pm. £5.

DKD's laest album Fear Of Flying was released by Fat Cat in April and it's bloody marvelous! Look:

"The delirious oboe chorus on ’A Myoclonic Jerk’, the following scuzz-bomb of a guitar attack, the honking horn section on ’That Knot Unties?’, the sliding escalation and sudden stop of ’In My Child Mind You Were A Lion’… it’s all indicative of a sublime musical mind." 9 out of 10. Drowned in Sound

"...a very serious and brave LP, full of grand pronouncements and soaring arrangements." Stool Pigeon

Sat. July 5th. Her Name Is Calla, Glissando + Oh Wow, Meow!, The Basement, York, 8pm. £5.

Tues. July 22nd. Ballboy, Les Cox Sportifs + Over The Atlantic, The Basement, York, 8pm. £5adv.

Tickets available from www. picturehouses. co. uk or 0871 7042054. Only 10 minutes from the station!!

Also, I'm very excited to announce a special PPY party at The Duchess in York. Canadian psych, country, garage, surf (!?) outfit The Sadies will be performing one of eight UK shows in October. An exceptional live band that played the third ever PPY show in 2006 we are delighted to have them back.

Sat. 25th Oct. The Sadies + The Federals, The Duchess, York, 7.30pm. £10adv.

Tickets for this show are available now from www. theduchessyork. co. uk, www. jumborecords. co. uk or http://www. ticketweb. co. uk/user/?region=gb_northeast&query=detail&event=275255

Hi folks. The bombardment begins! We have five shows this month, the first of which is mighty exciting!

Supporting his new Asthmatic Kitty LP ’In The Vines’ Raymond Raposa stops by for one of only six UK shows. His wonderful songwriting is awash with trippy electronics and lazy country licks. Twisted country Grandaddy possibly? I dunno, bloody good though! Assisting on the album are a wealth of talented musicians including members of the wonderful Phosphorescent, Jana Hunter and Sufjan Stevens.

Supports are great too.

York ain't so far away! 10 minutes from the station.

Please Please You presents Castanets, Fishing Partners + Red Trees. The Basement, York, Thurs. 8th May, 8pm. £6adv.

Tickets www. picturehouses. co. uk or Tel.

Eh up George! like the tracks. Now would you like to perform Jug Band Waltz by he MJB with me over the weekend when you're in York? It's in G and pretty straight forward for a man with such guitar capabilties as you. Also try and get Mark and I a gig at some acoustic venue nr you. See ya on the 10th or Fri if you and Tom wanna help me and Andrea move house!

Cheers TC
