Jorge Galavis is a blues & rock guitarist / songwriter living in North London, Uk. Born and and raised in Spain, at the age of 17 he left to the USA where he was inspired to become a musician after meeting Blues Guitarist Don Scott (The Dust Bowl Blues Band), a Minnesota native and disabled Vietnam war veteran. After learning a few licks, tricks & various chords on his steel guitar he set to become a musician myself.
In 2009 he graduated with a Higher Diploma at the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance in Kilburn, North London (formerly The Guitar Institute) and since he has been involved in various music projects. He has recently written & recorded the score in two commercials for Dorset Cereals produced by Slingback TV
and has also written & produced short music pieces for television shows "El Plato" and "Cucutrash", produced by Televigo, a local Spanish TV station.
In Jan 2009 he put together a new band called The Beyonders after meeting bassist & DJ Pato Vidal (Courtney Love / Paloma Faith) and drummer Mark Edwards (Les Ruprettes). Together they showcased for Island Records as part of their 50th anniversary celebrations.
In the past he has also written and produced for many other artists and played in several bands. Some of them are: The Pali Gap and Sanj Pali / Adam Bentley / Shiroh Okuni, The Kevin East Band, Joules Chown Productions, Eppidemix Productions, Lee Anthony, Paul Sanchez... all of whom have contributed their bit in helping him develop his craft.
He has also had his music showcased and aired on XFM, BBC Asian Network, Jazz fm & Kiss fm, The City Showcase Summer Festival, The British Academy of Composers and Songwriters, Oxfordshire Radio, Architecture Rocks Festival @ the Bloomsbury Ballroom, Wired Radio (Goldmiths College) amongst others and can be regularly seen playing live in venues like The Bedford, 93 Feet East, The Fly, The Water Rats, The Metro Club, The Clapham Grand, Clockwork, Bloomsbury Ballroom, The World's End, Lark in the Park, and more...
