I just completed the final overdubs and mixes at Capitol Records for Roy Gaines "Tuxedo Blues" big band CD. This is a full 17 piece big band with all new original charts written by arrangers Leslie Drayton, Benjamin Wright, John Stevens and myself. And there are some very special guest artists on this CD. This could be a great one! Look for the release in July 2009.
The Jeff Jensen Band's new CD "I'm Comin Home" , was just released in May 2009, and includes a 4 piece horn section (Trumpet, Tenor, Trombone & Bari) added to his 4 piece rhythm section. I wrote the horn arrangements and recorded the horn tracks with Johnny Roberts on Bone and Dan Heffernan on Tenor (and Bari). You can check it out on Jeff Jensen's MySpace page.
The Paris Escovedo Project is up and running. This is a great original latin funk band. We just did 3 days in Denver, CO for Cinco De Mayo weekend. The band is on the road again to Denver and San Francisco in August. Check it out on The Escovedo Project's MySpace page.
Just got a call from the Delgado Bros to play at their CD Release party June 19th at the Doubletree Hotel in Arcadia at 8:00 PM. Lee Thornburg wrote some great horn parts for this CD. I'll be playing with Paulie Cerra on Tenor and Francisco Torres on Bone. This will be a great event - don't miss it!!! Go to The Delgado Brothers MySpace page for more info.
One more for ya' - the great young blues guitarist Pryor Baird is recording another CD and will include myself on Trumpet and Jimmy Z on Tenor and Harp. This guy blows his ass off!!!
