mr. stroumboulopoulos, sir. you have the most favorite last name i have in the canadian media. i really appreciate what you've done, it was the same sort of idea that the beatles had when given the oppurtunity. as in, the positive light they shone in opposition to the very real light of an alternative message. your intentions are in the right order, is all. but i'm just writing because i read that gian gomeshi was fronting or something. i had never heard anything about the man being robbed in his car with only the stereo and key taken.
please listen to my music.
thankyou
hi , i see you have your own show now that's awesome , i remember you from much music when it used to air in the US but was taken off cable and went to satallite , i'll have to tune in for THE HOUR , good job GS!
Thanks for adding me .. Love your interviews.. you definately have talent. I mean when I stop and watch Margaret Atwood being interviewed ... just because it's you doing the interview. Cheers.
George, My sincere condolences to you during this tough times... Martin will no doubt be missed by so many... I can't even begin to imagine how difficult it must be for you... My heart goes out to you and everyone who was lucky enough to know him and be a part of his life...
Continued.. sorry wouldn't let me post the entire thing..
I read his bio recently and I always knew that he was a fan of The Clash but found out he loved them since he was 13 years old and anyone who loves a band for that long deserves to be respected. The Clash was never my favorite band. I like their music but there's lot of music I like better but when Martin would talk about them I would always stop to listen.
seriously couldn't stop crying when I heard the news. he had a huge influence on my life. sometimes I would listen to the radio just because I knew he would be on. he lived for the Edge and was a huge part of it. hope you feel better and all my love. you are also someone I respect a lot. you did it for the passion of music too and I respect. I can't respect DJs that work at the Edge and go on to work at CHUM FM or any of those shitty radio stations.
but I know you knew Martin well and he was a great man. will never forget that guy. much love dude. much much love. hope you can work at the Edge soon when that idiot that fired you gets fired. I hope that will happen soon and the Edge will be better than ever again. much love. <3
Janine.
ps: I think you're still doing that thing on CBC. :)) please get a interview with Natasha Khan from Bat For Lashes. love her so much. Thom Yorke is a huge fan of hers. much love George. <3
hey George. it's total bullshit that you don't work at the Edge anymore. they fired the best DJs. you will always be the best along with Martin Streek, Barry Taylor, Alan Cross and Darrin Pfeiffer, Vichna, Sandra, Dave Bookman. there are a lot of good DJs now but you guys have been there the longest and never deserved to be fired.
the person who fired you deserves to die seriously. what a fucking asshole. when Alan Cross was running things at The Edge things were much better. in fact that was when The Edge was the best.
my condolences about Martin Streek man. I always loved him. he was always my favorite. been listening to him on the radio since I was 8 in 1996 and I'll never forget him. he was such a great dude with such a good heart and a love for music. he was so loyal to the edge. he should have never been fired. total bullshit man. I know you for sure will probably work at The Edge again someday. anyone who plays music that no one else is playing and does it for the passion of music and not because someone is telling them to play it is my hero. and you always were.
but seriously been listening to Martin Streek for 13 years on the radio. always loved him and recently had the chance to talk to him. wish I could've convinced him that suicide was not the answer and life was worth living. he was the spirit of radio and I know you loved him too.
Hi George. I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of Martin Streak. There are very few radio personalities, that I really admire, and he, yourself and Alan Cross are 3 of them. RIP Martin, and I hope you are doing okay...
heya George, i just wanted to send you some love.
the whole community is feeling the loss...
but for those whose loss is personal, my god, what can you say?
all we can ever do is love each other and remember... my best, G. xo
