Art-pop singer/songwriter George Usher was born in Cleveland where his early demo recordings gained local airplay while he was still in his teens. Relocating to New York City, he’s put in time with numerous New York area bands (Beat Rodeo, The Bongos, The Schramms), while fronting and recording with his own (House Of Usher, George Usher Group).
As a songwriter, he’s collaborated with Richard Barone, Steve Almaas, James Mastro, Dave Schramm and many others…His “Not The Tremblin’ Kind”, covered by alt- country artist Laura Cantrell, became the title track of her debut album. He co-wrote and co-produced Edward Rogers' recent Zip Records release, "You Haven't Been Where I've Been". Described by the Village Voice as “one of New York’s best pop craftsmen,” his upcoming album, "Yours And Not Yours" will be released by Parasol Records on Sept. 1, 2009.
