Geraint Griffiths is a singer-songwriter working mainly in the Welsh language. His first band was The Undecided, formed in 1965. He then moved to London where he led several bands in the early seventies - Limbotrol, Boots and Butty. His first Welsh language recordings was as a session musician with Edward H Dafis, Hergest and on the recording of the rock opera 'Nia Ben Aur'. In 1976 he returned to Wales to join ex-members of Edward H, Sidan and the singer-song writer Endaf Emlyn to form Injaroc. The funk rock band lasted for twelve months leaving one album, HALEN Y DDAEAR. With ex-members of the three piece rock band Chwys, Geraint formed Eliffant. He was the lead singer and sole song writer. Eliffant stayed together for almost seven years, recording two albums, M.O.M. and GWIN Y GWAN and two singles. In 1984 Geraint started his solo career recording three albums of his own songs - MADRAS, REBEL and ARARAT. Geraint was also one of the three soloists on the Welsh language version of Young Messiah, 'Teilwng Yw'r Oen'. Most of his recording work and all of the above albums were on the Sain label. In 1992 he started his own record label, 'Diwedd Y Gwt'. He released his first 'Diwedd Y Gwt' album, DONEGAL, on cassette initially, and in 1998 re-released it on CD. HEWL was released on CD in 1999 and GLASTIR in 2001 and MIYA-JIMA in 2005. In January 2007 Geraint released 'CLWB DYDD SADWRN', a CD of live unplugged songs. Mae Geraint Griffiths wedi bod yn recordio ei gerddoriaeth ers 1973. Ei recordiadau cyntaf Cymraeg oedd fel cerddor sesiwn gyda Edward H Dafis, Hergest ac ar y recordiad o'r opera-roc Nia Ben Aur. Ym 1976 dychwelodd i Gymru o Lundain i ymuno gyda chyn aelodau Edward H, Sidan ac Endaf Emlyn i ffurfio Injaroc. Parodd y grwp roc-ffwnc am flwyddyn a recordiwyd un record hir, Halen Y Ddaear. Gyda cyn aelodau'r band roc Chwys, ffurfiodd Geraint Eliffant. Geraint oedd y prif leisydd a'r unig gyfansoddwr yn y band. Bu Eliffant gyda'u gilydd am tua saith mlynedd. Recordiwyd dwy record hir, MOM a Gwin Y Gwan a dwy sengl. Ym 1984 dechreuodd Geraint ei yrfa fel unawdydd, recordiodd tair record hir o'i ganeuon yn y cyfnod yma, sef Madras, Rebel a Ararat. Hefyd, Geraint oedd un o'r tri unawdydd ar y record Gymraeg o'r "Young Messiah" sef Teilwng Yw'r Oen. Roedd y rhan fwyaf o'i waith recordio, a phob un o'r recordiau uchod ar label Sain. Ym 1992 sefydlodd Geraint label recordio ei hunan, Diwedd Y Gwt. Y casgliad cyntaf ar Diwedd Y Gwt oedd y casét Donegal, ac ym 1998 cyhoeddwyd y casgliad ar CD. Rhyddhawyd HEWL ym 1999, GLASTIR yn 2001 a MIYA-JIMA yn 2005. Ym mis Ionawr 2007 cyhoeddwyd CLWB DYDD SADWRN - CD arbennig o ganeuon 'byw' sydd wedi gwerthu i gyd.
