His professional career starts at the early 17 years old, with the edition of his very first maxi-single called “INFIDELIA” with the well-known Metropol Records, under the BUS label (Barcelona Urban Sound). This would be just the beginning of a wide and successful career. His passion for the music drives him up to the Professional Sound Master, reaching one of his goals in a very short period of time, achieving his Sound Engineering degree in 1991. And it was since then when he started up his DJ experiences at one of the most important discos of the central Catalunya.
The success achieved with his musical productions, even greater than expected, made him one of the most requested DJs at many prestigious discos in Spain, without stopping him from creating new pieces of art that were brought to the market in the following years, through EPOCA MUSIC Records and GINGER MUSIC Records, among others, with a great acceptance also.
In 1995 starts working with BLANCO Y NEGRO MUSIC Records, where he develops “Con su blanca palidez”, under the name of SADDEN, a remix from the famous group “PROCOL HARUM”, that shot him up to the first place in the German charts of sales, through ZYX MUSIC Records, being also included in the famous Spanish compilation, BLANCO Y NEGRO MIX 2. Meanwhile, QUALITY MADRID Records edits many Maxi-singles by Gerard that achieved a great success in sales, such as PRIVATE MOVEMENT, LOCOMOTIVA, HERO and others, becoming most requested for many dance music compilations in the country, and BIT MUSIC Records ask him to work on different maxi-singles, some of them developed along with EMPHASIS, CLIMA-X, BLACK EAGLE, XAVI METRALLA, SKUDERO, PASTIS & BUENRI, XQUE Vol. 4/5/5 REMIX/6/7, CHASIS and PONT AERI, giving as a result more than one hundred of themes that also get spectacular successes, many of them reaching the 1 in charts.
TECHNICHS “The original sessions”, PROFFESIONAL DJs, LOS + BAILADOS, GOLD SERIES, MAKINA RESISTANCE, SPEEDSADD COMPILATION and many others compilations requested him to include some of his hits, and the MUSICA SI TV program invited him to a life session of his greatest themes.
In 1998 and 2000 he gets the DANCE MUSIC BEST PRODUCER OF THE YEAR AWARD.
Nowadays, Gerard Requena edits his productions under the label SADDEN MUSIC Records and cooperates with BUS RECORDS, ARMADA MUSIC and SFERA RECORDS, " www.sferarecords.com " not to mention the capital partnership with DJ1 MAGAZINE, that are called to bring great results in the short term, and also works with some European enterprises in the business.
To sum up this condensed biography, we must underline more than 260 maxi-singles produced and more than 1.000 pieces of work in the market.
