88Magic is the creation of pianist/composer Gere Fennelly. Her newest release, "The Many Moods of 88Magic" brings to mind the lush sounds of the golden age of film composers: Ennio Morricone, Michel Legrand, Nino Roto, and Henry Mancini. Gere Fennelly spent her formative years listening to these artists, influencing her musical tastes indeliably...She burned through her teen years as rock star in Japan with the all-girl band, Rox. Throughout the 80's, she played in such bands as Romeo Void, Anvil Chorus, Specimen, White Trash Debutantes, and made her name as a flamboyant pianist & performer in the underground cabaret scene in San Francisco. She moved to LA in '91 to join legendary band Redd Kross, and has since recorded with countless artists, and is currently composing music for TV and film. After last year’s wildly-successful 25th anniversary Batcave event, The Batcave returns to its original spawning ground of London’s West End on Sunday July 19 for another night of blasphemy, lechery and blood.
Specimen (Fresh from a fantastic show at Leipzig’s Waves Gotik festival), the original Batcave instigators will headline the lurid frolics at the Embassy Club, (29 Old Burlington St, London W1S3AP) Also on the bill are original Batcavers Sexbeat, with DJs Hamish and Cavey Nick, cavorting from decks to decadence with the usual brutal, trouser-dropping surprises & suitably confronting & barbaric entertainment.
