Gereon Homann studierte als Jungstudent klassisches Schlagzeug an der Musikhochschule in Münster bevor er nach dem Abitur an die Folkwang-Hochschule in Essen ging. Dort studierte er Drum-Set bei Thomas Alkier und Sperie Karas und erhielt im Jahr seines Studienabschlusses (2002) den renommierten Folkwangpreis im Bereich Jazz. Seit 2005 unterrichtet er an der Musikhochschule Münster Drumset und seit 2008 am Institut für Musikpädagogik der WWU Münster. Mit vielen Bands aus unterschiedlichen stilistischen Bereichen (u.a. Philip Boa & the Voodoo Club, John Kelly, Gerd Dudek, Wolf Hoffmann, Smudo, Molly Duncan) arbeitete er zusammen und spielte zahllose Konzerte im In- und Ausland in Clubs und bei großen Festivals, er nahm Videos auf und gewann mit seinen künstlerischen Projekten zahlreiche Wettbewerbe, u.a. den WDR- Bandwettbewerb, Jägermeister Band- Contest, Bilborock (Spanien). Quelle: http://www.schlagzeugstudium.de ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Because of his extraordinary talent Gereon Homann started studying classical drums at the German music academy in Muenster before receiving his high school diploma. After his graduation he attended the Folkwang-Hochschule in Essen/Germany to study Drum-Set. Amongst others he was taught by reputed lecturers like Thomas Alkier and Sperie Karas. He was the winner of the highly accounted Folkwangpreis in the same year of receiving his university degree. Gereon Homann performed with many bands and artists of different musical styles (e.g. Philip Boa & the Voodoo Club) all over Europe. He has played venues of all range, has taken part in musicvideo productions and has won prizes with a lot of different artistic projects like for example the WDR-Bandcontest, the Jaegermeister Band-Contest, Bilborock (Spain) and so on. Gereon Homann is one of the most professional and versatile drummers of the new and young generation in Germany.
