This Poem was Published in "Life's Poetic Journey" Copyright 6/27/01 It was also published in my 30 year class reunion booklet from: Brentwood High School--Long Island, New York... Today...I wish to bring it back in Memory of my classmates who served in the Vietnam war, to the families who suffered a loss, And to all our American soldiers & their families who reunite today in Prayers for All those who served in wars fought for our freedom in the U.S. May God Bless America!

Dedicated To My Class Of 1968

One disaster after another occurred
during the era of the sixties.
The Memories we’ve shared
through those uneasy years
will always stay in our minds.
Memories that will never die,
memories of love,
and memories of painful tears.
We lived through a generation
that rocked America
from riots, rage, and assassinations.
We lived through drugs, Hippies, and flower power.
We watched Apollo shoot into space,
while Praying for survival of our soldiers
in the Vietnam War.
A war that lasted ten years,
while we fought another war on race.
We are known as the BabyBoomers.
The generation that was addicted to the "Dick Clark Show."
A show that many became famous on
over thirty years ago.
We watched the "Beatles, Janis Joplin,
and Martha And The Vandellas"
move up to fame and fortune.
How could we ever forget the movie,
"The Graduate, with Dustin Hoffman?"
We are the generation gap,
all turning fifty, and blooming at last
from an era that was for sure a blast.
We opened the world’s eyes to all its fads.
We made the whole country go mad.
Happy we were to make things change,
so never were we sorry, or sad.
Through years of chaos, and actions we feared,
we made it through an era of great delight.
We filled the air with an abundance of love
and its shining light,
while treading the pathway through life
with all of God’s might.



AT Age 16....I Decided that I either wanted to become a Nurse 0r a Teacher, or perhaps someday both. My Burning desire was Always to help people--So..I literally spent more than half my life doing so...



After I graduated S.C.C.C. in Selden, NY in 1971 I attended a 3 year Diploma/Nursing School, where I was allowed to attend for 2 years because I had college credits during entrance/ The Nursing School was: C.I.S.H. School Of Nursing/NY Graduated in 1974 I then took state boards & became an RN I became Certified in Critical Care Nursing a few years later...worked as a Med Surg Nurse/ floated onto many units of Hospital nursing including Coronary Care.. I worked in Hospitals--Nursing homes--clinics--schools I also worked for the American Heart Association & the American Red Cross--Teaching CPR & First Aid in Adult ED Classes in Sachem Schools NY--And Fire departments in NY
