"...Stripped down and raw songs pepper his album. Lyrically it’s wise and aged. Despite its relatively lo-fi approach, the album is surprisingly dense, covered with multiple textures and astonishing treatments." —Smother Magazine
Geron Hoy is a New York-based singer/songwriter with deep roots in folk, blues, country, and Americana. A truly homegrown artist, he honed his musical sensibilities over the course of a transient upbringing that took him from his birthplace in Laredo, Texas to New Orleans to Mesa, Arizona, and finally to his teenaged years in the farmlands of Simsbury, Connecticut. His songs ring reminiscent of a bygone era of cultural and political revolution, while also exploring the personal quest for higher wisdom and self-realization. His live performances echo with intensity and emotional abandon. Geron Hoy's music is a marriage of young spirits and old souls, always authentic, and never cheap in sentiment.
