I like music that conveys a passion. I listen to lots of genres.
Mostly experimental electronics old and new from what they used to call IDM to the so called Avantgarde, tons of Dubstep, some Breakcore (also from before it was called like that) & some experimental Hip Hop. Some Dancehall, much Ska&Roots Reggae, affiliated Jungle too.
If it's broken, chances are i like it :)
I can appreciate Mahler or Brahms at the right time. I like Debussy's work for oboe and harp very much.
I am about to learn to like guitars. I really like Velvet Undergroud, Tim Buckley, The Smiths and more already.
And I have a long-lasting love for early 90s rave sound. The stuff i started to dj
with. Klf, Altern8, Utah Saints ... etc.
Oh boy, lists do always look like they're supposed to be complete...
Not even my discogs collection is.
Labels i like: City Centre Offices, DMZ, Dub Police, Hyperdub, Kool.Pop, Lux Nigra, Planet µ, Rephlex, Rump, Suburban Trash, Tectonic, Warp...
Movies
My main interest besides music. I watch lots of those...from weird Asian (Miike, Suzuki, A. Kurosawa, Kitano, Ki-duk Kim...) over b/w European (Bergman (!), Resnais, Godard, Fellini, Atonioni ...) to the US more-or-less Independents (Lynch, Jarmusch, Coen, Allen...).
Some absolute favourites:
8 1/2, A Clockwork Orange, Badlands, Battle Royale, Belle de Jour, Dark Star, Dogville, Ecstasy of Angels, El Topo, Her Life to live, High and Low, La Notte, Lost in Translation, Last Year at Marienbad, Lucia y el sexo, Miller's Crossing, Monday, Mr. Hulot's Holiday, My Night at Maud..s, Persona, Requiem for a Dream, Solaris, Songs from the second Floor, Stardust Memories, Storytelling, The Holy Mountain, The Passion of Joan of Arc, The Wild Bunch, THX 1138, Uzumaki, Wild Strawberries...
Television
Sucks here these days. Nevertheless I do, and did have favourite shows: Family Guy, Future Boy Conan, Futurama, Galactica, Harald Schmidt Show, Looney Tunes (basically Coyote and Pepe Le Pew),, Serial Experiments Lain, Sherlock Holmes (BBC), South Park, Spielhaus, That 70s Show, The Muppet Show, The Sopranos, The Simpsons (up to a point)...
Apart from that I can spend hours watching sports on TV.
Books
Al Franken's books, Matt Groening's "...is Hell" comic series Les particules elementaires [okay it was an audiobook] Sputnik Sweetheart [the only Murakami i read so far ;)] The Manual [KLF]

MAD EP & AREA FILTHY ONE - 'Brimstone Bangerz' 12inch [SLQ009]
Mad EP's experiments lead him to take 80's hiphop beats, but instead of giving them a modern polish, he chose to toss them down a volcano and let them bake in Dante's Inferno until charred to perfection. Burnt to a crisp and magma oozing from the pores, the beats were then road tested before finally submitting them to Area Filthy One. The result is a collection of 3 apocalyptic anthems (plus a heavyweight remix by Akira Kiteshi) for ultimate dancefloor destruction.
Available today from Spectraliquid, on hard recycled paper vinyl cover with stunning comic artwork.

DM12003: Poxxe - Iono EP OUT NOW! Darkmatter Soundsystem frequents their third visit to vinyl (DM12003) this time around with the Southern California native Poxxe. The 12" kicks off with a screaming dubstep floorkiller titled "The Malfunction" sure to incite soundsystems and crowds. Next up is the rattling tear out breakcore track titled "Funky Lizard" with Minion on the collab. On the flip side, the two tracks "Yellular" & "Plastic Hip" explore the more sparse rhythms and tones of Poxxe's sound. A strong follow up to the label's previous release (DM12001) "Minion - Bored In The U.S.A. EP." Darkmatter is exclusively distributed and sold by Praxis.
Amboss: Kompressorwahn/Avenida Paulista (Sub/Version 014) OUT NOW! The most relentless Sub/Version release so far! Two mighty tracks combining a wall of sound with rave hyper-energy. Side A "Kompressorwahn" kicks off with stepping tension-oriented rave-esque melodies quickly culminating in the most extreme pounding beats that throttle your nerves and whip the dancefloor into a frenzy with no end in sight. Amboss keeps up the pressure with the side B track titled "Avenida Paulista" in which hard industrial effects, intense frequencies and relentless beats are pushed to the limit. Deemed to be "too hard" for some, Sub/Version 014 by Amboss demolishes all other drum and bass tracks around thus demonstrating the possibilities for further explorations in hybrid extreme sounds. Sub/Version is exclusively distributed and sold by Praxis.
Line up Basskäfig: Tim Turbo & Danny Scrilla, Sencha & audite, Selectah Spinback & Pablo Gunzales
