Spring brings the Azalea Trail to Houston. So last weekend Gerry took her mom and her cousin took her mom and they went on a tour of the homes and gardens in River Oaks. That's where the rich folks live. Beautiful homes and lush gardens. So they all came home disgusted with their own hovels and weed-choked lawns. I say get over it. They're lucky they're not living in their ten year old cars. Right?
Music
Gerry bought the CD with the Grammy finalists in it to help with my adventure in Hollywood for book 5 in the Real Vampires series. Cool collection of music. Now she's on to the latest James Morrison CD. His song "Stay" really sums up the attitude of the men in my life. Listen and see if you can get what I mean.
Movies
Watched the Oscars and, oh baby, Hugh Jackman can lap dance for me any time. Haven't seen many of the films. Too depressing. Sorry, but I'm into light stuff. Actually have been to Mombai back in the day when it was called Bombay. Horrible poverty. Winning a game show is a real fantasy. No wonder "Slumdog" is a hit.
Television
It's a wasteland. Thank God "American Idol" is back. Haven't bonded with anyone yet. Hopefully I'll find one I'll want to phone in for. Kind of like "Doll House" because it's weird. I'm into weird. Sad to watch the season finale of "Burn Notice". Have loved the characters in that. Please hurry up and bring back "True Blood". Need my vampire shows!
Books
In the mood for funny so bought the new Susan Elizabeth Phillips bestseller, but haven't read it yet. Did start "Would-Be Witch" by Kimberly Frost and it's a hoot. Try it. It's her first and she's got a funny voice. Predict a good series here.
Heroes
Anyone who can hold on to a job these days. Have you ever heard so much doom and gloom over the economy? All this talk of a depression is downright...depressing. I try not to watch the news. Let's try a positive outlook. Maybe we can turn this thing around. In the meantime, here's wishing all of you the brightest and most prosperous future money can't buy. Glory/Gerry
, folks, I'm hitting the road in REAL VAMPIRES book #5 coming in February, 2010. I'll be in Hollywood for the Grammy awards show. But all the usual suspects will be with me. More info coming soon.
Glory/Gerry
..
here, Gloriana St. Clair that is, Gerry Bartlett's alter ego in REAL VAMPIRES HAVE CURVES. Gerry's busy signing books, so she asked me to check in to My Space and hook up with all you lovers of Vampire Comedy. Personally I don't think being a vampire is a big yuck, not after over 400 years without a tan. But, hey, I do have a lot of fun, especially with the new technology. You try living without a microwave or a cell phone.
Who I'd like to meet:
Fellow book lovers who are into fun, funny and vampires who bite but don't hurt. I'm not into the whole "Woe is me" stuff. I'm not a skinny, minnie either.

Just finished books 3 and 4 love them! For some reason Blade is rubbing me the wrong way! Love me some rockstar Ray though! Can't wait till feb! keep writing and i will keep reading! DANI
Thanks. I have read your books and I love them. I cant wait for the next one to come out. I really like Blade but I am rooting for Cane and Glory to get together.
i just want to say that i love your books & i have been hooked since i found real vampires have curves. Im a fuller figured woman & its nice to see the main character in a story to be more normal sized & realistic. especially in a vampire novel which are some of my favorite things to read so thanks again & i hope you keep writing cuz i cant wait to read more about glory & all her misadventures.
Thanks Mrs. Bartlett. I got your book "Real Vampires Live Large" as a gift and I fell in love with it. I'm searching for the rest of the series right now. I can't wait to read more Glory.
Hey there Gerry. I can't wait til the new book comes out, I'm so excited to read it. I came across a new series I wanted to share with you. I noticed you were reading the Black Dagger Brotherhood by JR Ward. That is an awesome series. The new one I came across is by Lara Adrian and the first book is "Kiss of Midnight" Hope you like it
Dear Gerry, thanks for your lovely comment! I was excited to read from you. Actually I'm a bit worried as the internet says that your second German book of Glory's stories will be released in spring 2010. So I guess I'll switch to the next book in English. I just have to see where to get it from :)
I've honestly read a lot of vampire stories, starting with Anne Rice and lots of others. Some of them are simply written too serious, that's exactly what I love with Glory. She's always good for a smile.
