"This man is a dynamo. He sounds like a whole Band! Superb mixture of original material and great Blues. Is also influenced by Led Zeppelin, Cream, Bowie and The Who" - Dundee Blues Bonanza website.
"A new genre will have to be created in record shops for Gerry's music as he fits in to none of the genres available. He is a "Zany Genius" - Dave (The Bishop) Scot for Blues Matters Mag. Dec 2005.
Sounds Like
Himself but has also been told he sounds like Robert Plant, Steve Perry and others.
Attention !! Gerry's now the proud owner of the new Giannini Craviola electro-acoustic guitar which is Brazilian made of Spruce and Rosewood, a fine piece of crafted kit. His is thought to be the first one in Scotland, if not the UK. The latest photos on the site were taken within days of him getting the Craviola. This, along with his recent addition of a guitar loop pedal, will ensure a brilliantly varied performance at all the upcoming gigs. Don't miss out. The Craviola will be debuted at The Bank Bar, Union St, Dundee on 30th June, 2006.
Fusion at it's best. Gerry plays acoustic guitar in an extraordinary way. He uses only his guitar and a few pedals but eminates the sound of a 4 or 5 piece band. His music is in a category of it's own, mixing blues, rock, ballads and folk, mostly his own compositions but some great covers thrown in too. No two gigs are the same and each one is an experience rather than a gig. He's been the front man in several band line-ups over 25 years, even supporting Status Quo and Bryan Adams on the Scottish leg of their tours in the late 90's. In 2004 however he realised his heart lay with his own solo acoustic sound. In 2005 he was voted Best Solo Act by audiences at both the Dundee Blues Bonanza and the Orkney Blues Festival. The "Zany Genius" tag came from Dave Scott who wrote a review on Gerry's live performance at Orkney and also on his 6-track album The Man Who Lost The Moon, both reviews being in Blues Matters Magazine. His cd was also given a good review in Blues In Britain, Dec 2005 issue.

Two year old Sofia Crockatt was suddenly struck down with Meningococcal Septicaemia in February 2007. Thankfully, after several months in hospital she managed to pull through. This little girl's strength and determination has been the inspiration for our fundraising. We chose Meningitis Research Foundation as they not only put money towards research but their mission is also to raise awareness of the symptoms of both meningitis and septicaemia. Sofia still has long road to travel, but is making amazing progress.
