::::::::ACE BOOK!:::::::
Ace Records is undoubtedly the world’s foremost blues, rockabilly, soul and rock 'n' roll reissue label. Basically, if you want to discover this kind of musical 'old gold', then there's probably no better way to get started than buying a compilation from Ace's hefty, and still growing catalogue of lovingly put together collections of music. I've got several brilliant Ace compilations and continue to buy from them as the label not only dispenses great, often overlooked music, each release also provides a wealth of information about the artists and tracks featured.
Even the most cursory of glances at Ace's website reveals the level of expertise and passion the label's founders and staff have for the music they release and a new book from Black Dog Publishing, is a worthy celebration of the label.
Illustrated with many unseen archive photographs dating back to the 1920s, rare artwork and newspaper clippings, and written by established music journalist and author David Stubbs, Ace Records is a highly entertaining and visually stunning guide to a pioneering alternative to the mainstream UK music scene.
