GESHER is the Hebrew word for bridge. It is also the name of a new duo whose music is beginning to take root in Jewish communities around the world...from New York to Los Angeles to Paris. By setting the Shabbat texts to new and original melodies and sterling production, Gesher is progressive and innovative while remaining true to its Jewish identity and tradition.
The project was written and produced by multi-platinum selling composer Michael Hunter Ochs and features lead vocals by nationally recognized Cantorial Soloist, Daniel Leanse. Accompanied by an all-star band including keyboardist Matt Rollings (James Taylor, Dixie Chicks, Lyle Lovett) and violinist Jonathan Yudkin (Shania Twain, Big and Rich), and guest artists such as Alana Grace and Joshua Nelson, Gesher has been described as "more than song, it is the spirit of the Jewish people." Whatever your personal beliefs or faith, may this collection of songs lift your spirits, enrich your prayers and in some small way, bring us all closer together. It's been awhile since I've been able to stop by & say Hi. My Jewish Pride is still going strong & Proud. My JP has been to Amsterdam & saw the Oldest Temples, They are being restored & are just so magnificent. My JP also saw where Anne Frank was forced to hide. They have her original diary, there are pictures that break your heart. My JP walked in the building, walked where she walked, saw the tiny space that she & so many others had to share. It was one of the most moving experiences of my life. There was sadness & many tears, but there was also Pride. I saw Jewish Pride everywhere I went.
Please continue to share the Pride we feel. Please continue to show others that it is OK to open their hearts to their Jewish Heritage. I hope you and your loved ones are safe & well. I wish you all joy & peace. I wish that you have love & serenity in your live.
Hey Gesher - I hope you're enjoying the holidays. Thanks for the friendship. May the new year bring you good health, happiness, true peace and all you wish for. Drop by anytime and catch some soul. All the best from Israel, Nomi
