Wir freuen uns immer sehr, nach einem Konzert auf bestimmte Songs angesprochen zu werden. Solche Gespräche am CD-Stand sind eine tolle, direkte Resonanz. Seid einigen Jahren spielen wir schon als Abschluss eines Konzertes die Ballade "Brother's Keeper". Den Song gibt es bisher noch auf keiner unserer CDs, irgendwie hat sich noch nicht der richtige Platz auf einem Tonträger für ihn gefunden. Nun haben wir ja das letzte Konzert im Leverkusener Sensenhammer aufgezeichnet und siehe da: Brother's Keeper ist uns gut geglückt. In der heutigen Besetzung gibt es Get the Cat seit 2006. Im Jahre 2007 hat die Band ihre erste CD unter gleichem Namen veröffentlicht und diese dann auf ausgedehnten Touren durch ganz Deutschland und die Schweiz vorgestellt. Sie war u.a. im Vorprogramm von Bernard Allison und Louisiana Red unterwegs.

Im Jahr 2009 wurde ein Konzert im Industriemuseum Leverkusener Sensenhammer in Bild und Ton mitgeschnitten. Aus diesen Aufnahmen ist die DVD „Live im Sensenhammer 09“ entstanden.

Im Frühjahr 2010 stellte die Band ihre neue CD „I Sing You The Blues" vor, die auf dem renommierten Label ZYX / Pepper Cake erschienen ist.
Bereits im Jahr 2011 erscheint dort auch die aktuelle CD "She Knows Them All"

Get the Cat zeigt uns eindrucksvoll, dass Blues nichts von seiner Frische und Aktualität verloren hat. Hier riechst du Funk, da schmeckst du Jazz, und heraus kommt Blues, der im besten Sinne populäre Musik ist.
Zwar behandeln die Texte der von Till Brandt geschriebenen Stücke auch bluestypische Herz- Schmerz- und Leidensgeschichten, dennoch hat in dieser Band offensichtlich niemand Angst vor guter Laune.
Astrid Barth, „die Frau mit den blonden Haaren und der schwarzen Stimme“, interpretiert die Bluessongs mal leicht ironisch, nörgelnd, einschmeichelnd sanft, dann wieder agressiv und kratzig.
Unterdessen zaubern Philipp Roemers flinke Finger scheinbar mühelos immer wieder Highlights auf die Bünde seiner Telecaster – ein echter Leckerbissen für Gitarrenliebhaber.
Till Brandt (b) und Ralph Schläger (d) legen derweil einen Groove vor, bei dem niemand lange stillsitzt.

Get the Cat spielt Blues.
Konservativ also.
Dabei innovativ und progressiv.

Get the Cat - Bio
Get the Cat was founded in 2006
In 2007 the band recorded their first CD, which was simply called Get the Cat. They immediately started touring all of Germany and Switzerland and played opener for acts like Bernard Allison and Louisiana Red.

In 2009 a concert at the industrial museum „Freudenthaler Sensenhammer“ in Leverkusen was recorded and filmed. This turned out to be so successful that the live DVD “Live im Sensenhammer 09” was released in the fall of 2009.

In the spring of 2010 the band presented their latest CD „I Sing You The Blues". The CD was released on the renowned German blues label Pepper Cake at ZYX Records.

In the fall of 2011 their latest CD "She Knows Them All" was released on the same label.
Get the Cat proves that blues today is still up to date and full of life. You feel funk, taste a little jazz and get blues that is pop music in the best sense.

The band plays 100% originals, written by Till Brandt. Songs about love and pain of course but watch out: This band will put you in a good mood!

Astrid Barth, the blueslady with “blond hair and a dark voice” fills the songs with live: angry and harsh, smooth and warm.
Philipp Roemer adds a few highlights with his speedy fingers on his telecaster – check him out all of you guitar fans.
All the while Till Brandt (b) and Ralph Schläger (d) supply a groove that will not allow you to sit still.
