Get Electric Now!is not a solution to a power outage, so please do not send an e-mail asking to fix the power lines so you can watch your favorite show.
Rather, Get Electric Now! is the newest wave in cool started by Erin "D*J*E" Jacobson. There have been many popular slang words and catchphrases over the years. Some notable examples are “groovy,” “bitchin,’” “You’re fired,” and “that’s hot.” Get Electric Now! is the campaign supporting the newest popular catchphrase – getting electric! The premise is to use the word “electric” in place of other words like “cool” and “awesome.” Use of “electric” can have many forms, and examples are provided below.
In place of “cool,” “awesome,” and other related words:
I love your shirt, its electric!
That new band is really electric!
To better or enhance something:
That painting looks great, but if you added a little color in this area, it would really electrify it.
To get your groove on/get pumped up/get excited/get ready for something:
Get electric!
Other or double usages:
In describing the new Red Hot Chili Peppers’ album, Stadium Arcadium --
I am electrified by its electricity. (Translation: I am excited by its awesomeness.)
The electrification of her new style really helped to electrify her image. (Translation: Her awesome new style helped to improve her image.)
