My name is Debbie Saloman (or Deb, or Debs, but not Deborah because then I feel like I'm being told off!)
I was born three months early on the 19th December 1983, in Whipps Cross Hospital in Walthamstow. I'm a Walthamstow girl born and bred! I guess if I had to describe myself in three words I'd say: friendly, chatty and extrovert.
I went to Salford University in Manchester and did a Performing Arts degree. I had a ball at Uni and set fire to my kitchen twice! I sing and act for a living. I love doing both and am torn between them! I have sung professionally as a session singer and in bands since I was fifteen.
After wowing audiences in March, Debbie Saloman returns to The King’s Head for a month’s run of the show which is “…nothing short of brilliance… fantastic”

This original new musical tells the story of Judy Garland's triumphant return to the stage. Heart-warming, fascinating and wonderfully funny, Get Happy! follows The Legend as she rehearses for her 1960 concerts at The London Palladium, part of a tour that would lead to her famous Carnegie Hall shows.
Full of anecdotes and true stories from the life of the world's greatest entertainer, Get Happy! also features a dazzling, pitch-perfect selection of some of Garland's best-loved songs, including The Man That Got Away and Over The Rainbow, performed by Debbie Saloman and a live band.
“Heart-warming and often hilarious” – New York Times “A captivating performance...mesmerising stuff" – City Life
After meticulous research, Debbie Saloman has created a warm and very affectionate play about Judy Garland. The first act is set in a rehearsal room in London and incorporates anecdotes and true stories with a number of songs, accompanied by her rehearsal pianist. In Act Two, we join Judy and a live band at London’s première night-spot ‘The Ad-lib Club’ for her after-show celebrations.
The unique aspect of the play - and indeed Saloman’s writing - is the positive, funny and affectionate interpretation of Garland. This is not the picture of a tragic figure but shows, as Garland’s family and friends testify, that Judy Garland was a vibrant and often hilarious woman.
