About me:
An everyday tale of gummi bears, flying tomatoes, a botched penectomy and the Platonic notion that sex is the human effort to reconnect two halves of our original whole, Hedwig and the Angry Inch tells the story of fourth-wall smashing East German rock 'n' roll goddess, Hedwig Schmidt.
The outrageous and unexpectedly hilarious story is dazzlingly performed by Hedwig in the form of a rock gig/stand-up comedy routine, backed by hard-rocking band “The Angry Inch”.
Focusing upon Hedwig’s lifelong search for the “origin of love” and her other half, the story’s explosive finale explores the nature of identity in a superficial celebrity obsessed modern society - finally asking if, in today’s world, there is any room for love and acceptance.
It's a roller-coaster ride - funny, touching, emotionally draining and ultimately inspiring to anyone who feels life has given them an inch when they deserved a mile…
A brutally honest musical theatre experience to startle your soul.
